Well, Finnish and Estonian only separated as languages around 1000-1500 years ago. I personally think that Kalevala/Kalevipoeg/etc. has almost no ugric influence and is pretty much finnic (= finnish/estonian/livonian) in every way outside of the creation of the world myth which is very asian (world egg etc. are mostly encountered in asian mythologies). As a history student it's sad that only a hundred years ago (or a bit more if we go into the late 19th century) most Finnics were still very paganistic in the sense that we kept most of our old traditions, ie. rune singing was alive and well, we kept the oral traditions of our people, our rituals were the norm (like "ukonvakka" in finnish, you probably did the same thing in estonia) while today these subjects are mainly a thing for academics and interested parties, while the actual events and "rituals" are a thing of the past.
