Play CK2, retake Spain, Anatolia and Jerusalem from the Muslims through crusades then import your save to EU4

talking abount single player with venice:
1st day
1) ally with austria & polen
2) fabricate claim on morea
3) build fort on negropons / naxos
following days
1) start building a fuck ton of galleys
2) fabricate on random ottoman clay
3) war on bysatium asap, steal all byzantine land, ravage serbia and bosnia but be carful not to take any land from them
4) after byzantine war , remove any kind of fort from athens and be sure you have a bigger navy than the ottomans
5) bring all your army on crete
6) war on ottoman (be sure they have no ally, crimea at max)
7) destroy all their navy asap
8) wait untill their army will contemporary siege corfu and negropons
9) before they completed the siege, bring your army on land and siege epirus and athens while bolckading the sea
10) enjoy sieging all anatolia
11) gain edirne only on the war
then after this is relatively easy

most reliable way is to probably get an alliance with both austria and poland-lithuania, then attack ottomans once they are at war with mamlukes or timurids

start in the hre as venice by moving the time forward to 1821 or something and then moving it back to 1444 and attack and vassalise byz at the same time as ottomans declare war, then when you become byzantiums overlord you will lead the war and austria will defend you so you can retake all their cores in an east war. they will be weak and will not become an empire so the rest should be a piece of cake, lots of boats will of course help in the wars after.

A lot of their momentum gained early.

If you deny them Constantinople - half of the job is done. Coalition of Poland(with PU), Hungary and Austria is enough to drive them back from the Balkans (return cores to Byz and release Bulgaria).

To finish the job don't let them take Turkish cores - ally with Karaman and Mamlukes.

That's it, they're crippled with low manpower and deep in denbts. By the time they recover you'll be a Superpower and wipe the floor with any country.

Ally with some strong people and declare war on Albania but hold off peace until the Ottomans declare war, once they do vassalize the Albanians and it'll start a defensive war against the Ottomans with all your allies.

i think OP means general early game strategy against Ottos, not picking a specific country for the whole purpose of winning the war

otherwise, you can just pick major like Austria or Poland and smash Ottos at the start anyways
