everybody knows of Romeo and Juliet, or at least the concept, and his plays are popular in theater, especially Hamlet and Macbeth.
In primary school they made me watch Polanski's Macbeth in English class.
I am pretty sure he is more popular here than the greatest Spanish playwrights (Calderón and Lope de Vega)
