I wouldn't call it ego-surfing but I checked it on occasion and saw Karen had been looking for me a few times. Everything else was the same sort of nonsense that I had encountered on the Irish thread on /cgl/ so I didn't know or care to look where it was being posted.

Silly anons...

You see, angrylad isn't a real person, rather an idea, an abstraction, a fabrication.

He was concocted by the Skype cabal in order to inject humorous conflict into the life of a dying general - and you all fell for it. Hook, line and sinker.
>>

>there wasn't any sudden weebposting at christmas
I definitely remember some heavy weebposting in late December because proto-Angrylad was having a go and anime posters for a couple of days, so he just got drowned in anime pics.

But it's not like that thing we are bereft of is the Brits or Normalfags - they were no loss. It's just that from looking at the old threads posted here tonight, discussions seemed to flow a lot better back then. There was less shitposting, and until Christmas at least it wasn't a big deal if somebody posted anime.

When you die your immortal soul will ascend to the heavens, yes. The ancient norse pagans were very close in their estimations of life after death. The Great Hall is largely analogous to Vahallah. It is present deep in the vast expanses of the cosmos. It will be many human lifestyles before the soul will arrive at the Great Hall. The Catholics named this period purgatory.

Mind tricks. Notice how everyone claims there was this anime poster here who lived in France? I don't see any French here, do you? It all started with my job as a German boat salesman. I took advantage of the fact that all of /éire/ is colour blind and has a natural sexual attraction to watercraft due to living on an island. From there I said I was living in Frankland and no one ever bothered to hover over my flag.
At times it was tough but it went much better than my gig as Saoirse Ronan's viral marketing agent.
>>
How many people are here from 14/15 /éire/? I have some unresolved questions I'd like honest answers for.

The afterlife is exactly like regular life except you didn't die, think losing a life in a game.
Or it's exactly like regular life except slightly worse, like that film Wristcutters.
Or you go to Hell and your punishment is working your job endlessly while Nico Yazawa constantly poses around you.

Who knows what dreams may come?

Then you'd get drafted or forced to work even more in a war torn country. The advantage to this is more single women, but you wouldn't care about that would you?

So take a 3-6 month break, relax and live off your savings. There's a job better fitting for you out there, feeling this sort of dread isn't how you should feel about your job. The fact you enjoyed the working conditions more in France is proof of that.
Sticking it out in a job you hate because you dislike job hunting isn't a logical position to take.

As other anons have accurately pointed out in the past, there is a part of me that will resist any attempt at positive change in my life even if it prolongs a negative aspect of my life. That's why I'm always confident that my self-criticism is justified.

Can you not try applying for preferable jobs while working your current one? Or do you feel helpless in the matter despite knowing you can change it, like that dog getting electrocuted?

>Why can't it just be like going to sleep forever?
Sleeping involves dreaming, unless you mean the dark, thoughtless sleep you experience after fainting. This life right now could be a paradise your real sleeping self adores or it could be a horrid nightmare.
All you can really do it attempt to find some form of joy in your current existence. I'm of the belief that you shape reality through your thoughts and emotions and if you die upset, you awake in a troubled world.
Or something like that I'm not God as far as I know.

I'm not familiar with the dog reference, but that is indeed how I feel. Almost like I'm being railroaded through life. I can pull the brake whenever I want, but I don't.

>unless you mean the dark, thoughtless sleep you experience after fainting
That's the one. I actually only dream very rarely. Every so often I'll get a few nights in a row with bizarre dreams, and then I might never dream again for months.

Worst part was you'd be sitting in traffic wishing for a bypass whilst looking at the signs.

>I'm not familiar with the dog reference
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Learned_helplessness
>One of the first was an experiment by Seligman & Maier: In Part 1 of this study, three groups of dogs were placed in harnesses. Group 1 dogs were simply put in a harnesses for a period of time and were later released. Groups 2 and 3 consisted of "yoked pairs". Dogs in Group 2 were given electric shocks at random times, which the dog could end by pressing a lever. Each dog in Group 3 was paired with a Group 2 dog; whenever a Group 2 dog got a shock, its paired dog in Group 3 got a shock of the same intensity and duration, but its lever did not stop the shock. To a dog in Group 3, it seemed that the shock ended at random, because it was his paired dog in Group 2 that was causing it to stop. Thus, for Group 3 dogs, the shock was "inescapable".
>In Part 2 of the experiment the same three groups of dogs were tested in a shuttle-box apparatus. All of the dogs could escape shocks on one side of the box by jumping over a low partition to the other side. The dogs in Groups 1 and 2 quickly learned this task and escaped the shock. Most of the Group 3 dogs – which had previously learned that nothing they did had any effect on shocks – simply laid down passively and whined when they were shocked.

You're not as bad as you think. You feel helpless from feeling railroaded into going through school and getting a job because it's "what's expected of you". If you were truly helpless you wouldn't have gone through half of that. You still had the ability to finish college, find work, move out, take care of yourself and move to a different fucking country. Some of us are so helpless we stopped caring altogether, dropped out, sank into a spiral and get an almost satisfaction out of watching ourselves decay further every day.

There are times when I fear that I am dangerously close to that precipice though. I don't even know what's keeping me trudging forward at this stage. Probably the expectations of my parents and others who know me, even though I'm already failing to meet some of those as is.

Varies. Yesterday I went to bed around 4am, fell asleep an hour or two later and woke up at 4pm.

>I always used to wake up around 17:30 when dinner was ready. Horrible feeling.
Worse is sleeping until dinner comes, then having to eat it while you're still full from what you had before going to sleep, then going back to bed.
>>

>Worse is sleeping until dinner comes, then having to eat it while you're still full from what you had before going to sleep, then going back to bed.
Yeah it made me feel bloated. I never went back to sleep though. Always just stayed online until the next morning.
I think a horrible feeling is when it comes to like 4am and everyone just disappears so you're left on your own with nobody to talk to playing video games.
Used to play arma 2 all morning, even though the servers would become less populated at like 2am. It would end up being me and like 10 other people in semi-dead server.

To me, Xbone is a predominantly Western machine, so it offers very little to me personally and doesn't have much I'd want to play. Only thing I'd really want to play on it would be the Master Chief Collection, think they really dropped the ball not releasing it on Windows too. I like Gears of War and already bought GoW4 on Windows 10. It's one of the best optimised games I've ever played on PC, and it's got crossplay with Xbone.

They're doing better than Sony recently when it comes to their business practices lately, however. Backwards compatibility is a huge plus and you get to keep the games you get they release via Games With Gold even after your sub expires.

I would have loved backwards compat on PS4, I hope going forward they'll have it on future consoles because it's not really workable keeping every console plugged in forever or rebuying the same digital games over and over.
I've never been into the Xbox brand either or owned one of their systems but I'm tempted to pick up a 360 on the cheap from CEX so I can play Tales of Vesperia at long last.
