Everything kills you at some point, but people always pretend that distilled water is super poisonous, but it's not. As long as you eat properly to make sure you get the minerals the water lacks while drinking that shit you're good to go.

Anyway suppose you're trapped in the desert and only have a gallon of distilled water on you, I guess you could just scoop some sand in it and it will absorb some soluble mineral salts in the sand.

If you're trapped in a boat on the ocean with only a gallon of distilled water I'd just add a few mililiters of sea water to it.

It's only permitted in Australia while contained in a solution with yeast and hops, or dissolved in various amounts of ethanol, for safety reasons.
It is only allowed to be transported or carried on your person in a protective glass or aluminium container. Brown paper bags are also commonly wrapped around the container if being carried in public, to protect from sunlight and heat damage.
We treat this shit very seriously in Australia. You can even be fined for selling to or carrying on your person those under the age of 18.
