A lot. Even though we share a few alphabets and words it's really different.

Urdu is identical to Hindi when spoken and close to Punjabi. The Script we use (Nastaleeq is that of Persian). Arabic is from a Semitic base. Urdu is of Indian base with words from Persian (Also Indo Aryan) , Arabic, English and Turkish words mixed in but the script is the Semitic (Or Arab) version of the ancient Persian script.

I can read all of Arabic and Persian but can only understand basic words and phrases in both.
