how do you go from this
>>

>uncivilized
it's actually the opposite, "white" is a trend in turkmenstan, so everything should be white, even the shitskin face of the cleaner

they have their own thing, that has nothing to do with being a musim, honestly

Here's a quick rundown:

>Leader post-soviet independence was batshit insane megalomaniac
>Like NK-tier or somehow worse
>Wrote a book similar to NK's juche but for Turkmen, renamed arbitrary words like 'bread' to his mother's name, banned random shit like lipsynching
>erected a grand city of white marble and many monuments to himself
>keeps the city SPOTLESS using these street cleaners, who probably wear white to keep with the white marble thing or something
>dies, successor keeps most of the same policies while tightening some and relaxing others
>somehow nobody in the West knows about this actual meme of a country

so, in a nutshell, because the leaders are insane.
>>
>>75382913
The state forces everyone to adhere to 'Turkmenbashi', which is like NK's Juche, and they've cracked down hard on Islam. However, there are reports of some 300 Turkmen ISIS fighters, though who the hell knows how they even found out about ISIS.

Same
Problem is that you have to buy an expensive tour in order to visit, and they watch you like a hawk. It's so stupid that they'd build all of these marble cities and resorts and monuments and actively avoid capitalizing on it with such tourism restrictions. They recently tried to develop the tourism sector by building an ornate white marble resort, but the restrictions plus the fact that it was on the cold-year-round Capsian Sea and right near a PETROLEUM REFINERY doomed it to fail spectacularly.
>>
>>75382985

Wow that's insane! And somehow fascinating... I'm going to read more about the country.
>>

there aren't as many restrictions as in korea, tho. you can basically go to any place and village you want. just don't be an eyesore

no
>How much control
heavy control, president have no interest in islamists ruining his dictatory utopia
>>
>>75385717
>How much control does the goverment in Turkmenistan have over the regular person?
a lot. The president wrote a book about spiritual and philosophical guidance which all mosques have to display as prominently as the quran. You also have to answer test questions on it for your driving test. The people are very ideologically controlled
>>
>>75383680
We don't think about them at all
Even Hırsızistan is more relevant here even though Turkmens supposed to be closer to us both culturally and genetically
>>
>>75385717
Well, it's a police state that avoids exposing the population to outside influences (they even reject basic forms of foreign aid), so they've reportedly been pretty successful at suppressing anything more than cultural Islam and quashing any form of Islamic radicalism. In fact, the leader decreed that the Ruhnama be displayed next to the Quran in bookstores among other similar policies, and he inscribes shit like this into mosques:

>“Ruhnama is a Holy Book – Qur’an is Allah’s book”

There are reports of ethnic Turkmen in ISIS, but no word on which cunt they're from. Seems like it'd be really hard to get recruiting materials into the country and radicals out. Maybe through Afghanistan?
>>

if you are punjabi you are also in the cool middle asia club
>>
>>75386804
I had lived there when I was a kid for 3 years. Memories are blurred since I was too young. It was your classical ex-soviet country in early 2000s; ugly buildings, money loving people, corrupted government etc. However country had an amazing scenery in general, and I've seen the real version of so called "Turkish hospitality" there. It was kinda sad to see that people preferred to speak Russian than Kyrgyz though, there were children who didn't know their language in their homeland. Tribes were fighting each other for control of government, and I suppose it's still that way. They're mostly meme Muslims, I think hardcore Muslims were mostly Uzbeks living there
>>
>>75386961
Apparently there are three (3) whole Kyrgyz posters now. Who knows where they came from, but they're here. Hopefully we get some regular posters from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Dagestan, and Chechnya eventually. Central Asia is fascinating.

>>75387358
Thanks for sharing. Central Asia has so much potential with all of its natural beauty and history, but it seems like most of its countries have a long way to go before they become nice to live in and visit.
>>
>>75387358
Well russian is also wide spread in here too, but it's not like this language hasnt contributed nothing to our country, people can talk both languages and no one really objects that
>>
>>75387657
I have high hopes for Kazakhstan, Nazarbayev is a pretty good leader
>>
>>75387657
Well I guess Dagestan and Chechnya aren't Central Asia, but they have the same shroud of mystery so I hope they post here.
>>
>>75387657
I rarely see prople who give a damn about central asia. Sometimes I think no one knows/cares about us, it seems that way. Thanks for your interest anyways.
>>
>>75387657
>Dagestan, and Chechnya
>Central Asia is fascinating.
i wouldn't call them a part of central asia, and their culture kinda differs

Yeah, it sounds like Kazakhstan out of all of them really has a chance to succeed, with Mongolia coming in second. If Iran had government that wasn't completely horrible and a convoluted code of respect, they could be a powerhouse too. The population is very educated and outputs incredible STEM workers.

>>75387763
No worries! It's the most exotic place on Earth imo, maybe because the West has completely forgotten that it exists and because it has such a rich history and so much natural beauty. Is Kazakhstan really on the up-and-up as is reported?
