As for your Question, I cannot speak for Canada as a whole since it is a country almost as big as Europe, but I can speak for Quebecois in general.

We're a proud people, the reason why you think we're rude when we speak to us in English is because you need to speak French when you speak with us. You are in our land and thus should speak our language, just like you would if you would go in Japan. Trying to fit in the country your visiting is crucial and a form of respect. We are close to each other and we're a warm people. I mean, Montreal is one of the most diverse city on heart, yet it is an amazing one and the violence is meager. Maintaining our heritage and the environment as whole is incredibly important. All true Quebecois enjoy going out in the wild at least once a year.

Anyway, that's pretty much what comes to my mind right now, but if you want to ask more specific questions, go on!

By warm, I mean welcoming, we are not super over cuddly to each other, but we'll always be happy to help someone who's trying to fit in our culture. There's nothing that make a Quebecois more happy than seeing someone making effort to speak French, even though it's broken it doesn't matter. it's the effort that count and we'll always acknowledge that.

I'm biased, so I'll say pretty good, but every group has their flaws.

Canadians tend to be nice and friendly people. Our social interactions tend to be overly polite, which is nice for us, but some foreigners take it as a sign of being fake. To be honest, there is a degree of shallowness to it, but in our collective unconsciousness we know that smooth and friendly interactions just make life easier and everybody's day a little better. So, if you ever encounter it, it's actually very genuine in most cases.

Like rest of the western world, it does have its share of the selfie #yolo bullshit aspect of its culture. It also has its share of trashy people just like every other country. Its biggest problem is that it sees being 'progressive' as its national identity. I'd point to our current Prime Minister's deceased father (fuckin jackass) as the source, but perhaps it came from some time even before he was our PM. Now the SJW bullshit has gone way too far.

We're becoming quite an Asian country in terms of demographics, which is kinda fucked. The housing market in big cities are just bubbles waiting to burst. The job situation (at least where I live) is pretty shitty. Like most of the west, there's a transition of labour to bullshit part-time contract work, which makes it increasingly harder for people to make ends meet, especially in conjunction with the skyrocket prices in housing in major cities. It makes young adults into pessimists and/or liberal starbucks marxists.

Canadians on 4chan tend to be retards. Don't take the ones on here as status quo irl.
