I think USB-Stick is the most common name, probably because it's the English loan word with the most straightforward similarity between spelling and pronounciation. If you expect 58 y/o Germans to write flashdrive or thumbstick correctly just from hearing the word you'll end up with shit like Feschdreif and Samsdick.
