Why don't euros sell manual cars in the US?
>>75286038
Americans can't handle the stick of power
Americans can't drive manual because there fat tummys don't give them enough room to move the gear stick.
Little known fact: America has put in place a number of legal hoops so that it's practically impossible for companies like Peugeot, Renault and Citröen, among other euro manufacturers, to sell their products widely on the US, meant to protect both the local car manufacturers, and the preexisting agreements with Asian ones.

Because automatics were always more popular here than stick
Automatics were seen as a "luxury" for a long time because you didn't have to fuck your gearbox if you wanted to drive long distance or cruising
Nowadays it's because it's just more efficient
Manual is still more fun though, just not in heavy traffic

wtf is this why renault is common in south america but not USA
>>75288798
Part of the problem was when they were allowed to send us cars they were always SHIT cars, but yes in a broad sense the US blocks companies like Renault and Peugeot to prevent too much competition
Not that they would put any up but hey whatcha gonna do?
>>75288880
isnt that kind of.... how do you say it..?
arent democratic countries supposed to be like cool to each other and not block each other's imports ?
>>75288919
Not if you want a competing industry.
>>75288919
Look at the US Automotive industry during the 08 recession and then you'll understand why they need protection, hell Chrysler, one of the Big Three, they're owned by Fiat
