Being the federal capital and close to the linguistic broder pretty much everyone there can speak swiss-german, german, french and english.

Honestly Bern is a great place, except if you want to go out.

This is Ljubljana.

Ljubljana is a city with a very picturesque center, and... not much else.

Outside of center, Ljubljana pretty much resembles any other Eastern European shithole, except there's no culture or tradition to make up for the sheer visual destruction.
People of Ljubljana are a combination of materialistic zombies known in western Europe as "your average city folk", and lazy bums that are known in southern Europe as "hard workers".

Though I am not someone who would look at people's status as an important thing, I do know a lot of people are, so I must also warn you that the city is comprised mainly of immigrants (predominantly Muslims), the elites, and students (who at any given night at 3am fill Ljubljana streets to the brim with both their drunken bodies and the contents of their poisoned stomachs. You see, there is not much to actually do in the city itself, Slovenia has a huge public sector, with most workers based in Ljubljana, and once they finish their hard working public job shifts, which usually last from 9 am to 1 pm, they go outside and start drinking, and/or doing drugs.

That makes Ljubljana a very progressive and tolerant place, filled with colorful characters who are very much free thinkers. There are many young girls in Ljubljana that came from rural parts of the country (pretty much everywhere else, as the city is a huge drain on state economy), and who for the first time in their lives are without the strong authority of their fathers, which they make up for by lifting their skirts for anyone polite enough to ask. If you are a foreign tourist, you'll find our young women to be more than willing to show you what free love looks like, as there are not limits between consenting adults who will never see each other again.

Quito is rather nice
It was the first city (along with Krakow) to be branded as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, so that´s something.
Very cultural. The indie music scene has some GOAT band. There´s always something to see there.
