We have some serious godtier writers,but producers prefer lowtier comedy garbage for moms and kids because money. But sometimes a small project of one of thse writers comes and it s fucking great

Movies from France (New French Extremity) and Sweden/Norway etc. are actually really awesome.

Watching European movies is really refreshing because when it comes to American movies finding a good movie is like finding a needle in the haystack that is Hollywood.

Modern French comedy is absolutely terrible because after Nouvelle vague, the industry died in favour of Hollywood, it was picked up by a group of colluding Parisians bobo that turned it into litteral left wing propaganda machine.
It's always "A refreshing comedy that tackles social issues" anti racist/anti homophobic bullshit and it is tiring.
They get a shitload of coverage (it's actually ridiculous, it's on every national and regional news) because they have high ranking friends in the media, and get state funding from the CNC because this small family of """""humourist and actors""""" owns it as well.

the beauty of french cinema isn't in its comedies(the most plebian of genres), but in the existencial dramas
