Republic of Moldova is the eastern part of historical Moldova, which was sliced off by the russians in 1812, named Bessarabia and had the romanian language banned as the administrative language (despite being spoken by 90% of the population) and a lot of moldovans were deported and replaced by hohols and moscals. Western Moldova, or rather, what was left of Moldova, united with Wallachia in 1859 and formed Romania/The United Principalities. Republic of Moldova is less of a country and more of a breakaway region with an identity crisis.
