Have you ever heard the phrase "If I'm going down I'm taking you with me"?

Dying alone isn't scary but becoming old alone is. It's scary to think about having a heart attack or stroke and being rendered paralysed to request help, knowing you're dying a slow preventable death because nobody will find you for days.

Jesus. I don't want that to happen to me, but considering my lifestyle it is a distinct possibility. Getting a wife just so that doesn't happen to you would be a very calculating decision though.
>>74960464
>not Domitian
The only reason we don't look back on him fondly is he fucking shat on the Senate
>>74964517
>Living doesn't really matter either though unless you do something that the world will remember you by
This is stupid. If you continue to exist after death, what happens to you/your soul is most important, and if you stop existing after death, then nothing you did matters because you don't exist anymore.
>>74964552
>Dying alone isn't scary but becoming old alone is.
Odds are your family will chuck you into a nursing home or the state will if you get too infirm.
>having a heart attack or stroke and being rendered paralysed to request help, knowing you're dying a slow preventable death because nobody will find you for days.
That could happen before true old age. Worrying about it is pointless.
>>74964730
>or the state will if you get too infirm.
Can the state do that? Because I doubt many people here will have families to take care of them in old age.
>>74964680
He was the Senate.
>>74964677
Getting a wife nowadays is usually a moderately to very calculating decision. In the old days where you had to get married to get companionship there would be more romance in marriage, but what's marriage nowadays apart from musical chairs when the music stops by mutual assent?
>>74964552
>In the early morning hours of 1 March 1953, after an all-night dinner and a movie, Stalin arrived at his Kuntsevo residence 15 km west of Moscow centre, with interior minister Lavrentiy Beria and future premiers Georgy Malenkov, Nikolai Bulganin, and Nikita Khrushchev, where he retired to his bedroom to sleep. At dawn, Stalin did not emerge from his room. Although his guards thought that it was strange not to see him awake at his usual time, they were strictly instructed not to bother him and left him alone the entire day. At around 10 p.m., he was discovered by Peter Lozgachev, the Deputy Commandant of Kuntsevo, who entered his bedroom to check on him and recalled the scene of Stalin lying on his back on the floor of his room beside his bed, wearing pyjama bottoms and an undershirt, with his clothes soaked in stale urine. A frightened Lozgachev asked Stalin what happened to him, but all he could get out of him was unintelligible responses that sounded like "Dzhhhhh." Lozgachev used the bedroom telephone to frantically call a few party officials; he told them that Stalin may have had a stroke and asked them to send good doctors to the Kuntsevo residence immediately. Lavrentiy Beria was informed and arrived a few hours afterwards. The doctors arrived in the early morning of 2 March when they changed Stalin's bedclothes and tended to him. They diagnosed him with a cerebral hemorrhage (stroke) caused by hypertension (high blood pressure), with stomach hemorrhage facilitating. He was treated in his dacha with leeches, as was customary at the time. On 3 March his double Felix Dadaev was recalled from vacation to Moscow "to be ready to stand in for Stalin if needed", but he never needed to. On 4 March Stalin's illness was broadcast in the media with surprising detail such as pulse, blood pressure and urinalysis; for convenience the time of his stroke was said to be 2 March and his location as Moscow. The bedridden Stalin died on 5 March 1953, at the age of 74.

New video from The Don is up boys.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhiUQAjxcN0
Set my alarm and inadvertently changed my clock an hour forward. -_-
Had a dream I was in Berlin when the Red Army came. Was trying to convince some girl to run away so we don't get fucking killed.
>>74971196
I thought you meant Don Conroy and I got excited for a second.
/dire/
Looking moderately presentable today boys.
Been having loads of dreams lately where I piss of my friends or people I know by being benevolent. Any arm chair psychologists in the house

>>74976186
How do you piss them off by being benevolent? Or is the point of the dreams that they get mad at you for no reason even though you're being nice to them? I'd say it has something to do with a fear of losing them or general insecurity about how they feel about you.
>>74976561
>Or is the point of the dreams that they get mad at you for no reason even though you're being nice to them?
This, I'm worried my victim complex is fucking with my head where it's telling me I am immaculate and everyone else is wrong
>>74976621
I think those dreams are supposed to be fairly common, like the ones of your hair and teeth falling out so it shouldn't be hard to find the root cause. Unfortunately I've never had one so I can only speculate the meaning.
>>74976516
Data is one of the most transparent and pathetic attempts at recreating an already popular character I can think of.

Good morning. What are the plans for today?
>>74976931
None. 15 hours from now I'll wonder where the day went, then I'll go to bed and do the same thing tomorrow.
>>74976931
Go GP I guess.
You?

Surely I'm not the only one who has these, right?
>>74978945
Not dreams but I used to be afraid there were aliens or ghosts in my room as a kid and had to hide my mouth under the blanket so they couldn't see me move. I'd imagine they could be an inch above my face but I couldn't see because it was so dark. I try not to think about it in bed anymore.
This thread makes me feel grateful that I rarely have nightmares.
>>74979076
I had a nightmare once that a serial killer was on the loose. I tried hiding in a bath behind a shower curtain but he found me. Then he took off his balaclava and revealed it was an unusually tall George Costanza. To make it weirder his face was stuck in the ISHYGDDT expression. Then I couldn't stop giggling as he stabbed me to death.
Weird Dream time lads. This all happened in one dream when I was 10
>Find a massive bank vault of chocolate

>Kill him with the cowgirl from the N64 South Park game

>He said pink and grey
>My dad comes in and says something and I say something back, I can't remember what exchange we had

I still remember this nearly 15 years later. And when I was a kid, I played so much N64, sometimes I dreamt in 64bit graphics

This reminds me of one time in 4th class when we doing a table quiz. A different person at your table had to answer a question in clockwise order but everyone could talk and tell eachother the answers. This one lad's turn comes up, he wasn't the smartest but hey. The teacher gives us the easiest fucking question ever; "What planet is known as the red planet?". The whole class starts shouting, annoyed that we got such an easy question. Everyone at our table keeps whispering chanting "Mars" to him. He looks to me (everyone thought I was some table quiz genius after I got some obscure question right) and I tell him Mars. He stands up and says "Jupiter". We were fucking pissed. Why even bother look to us for the answer if you're going to say something retarded anyways?

ordered all my new shite from them, they ship from the netherlands though which is a bit strange
if your order is in bulk above like 400 euro you get free shipping
base prices are fair and match newegg ones (except for the deals) plus you don't have to pay the ridiculous shipping costs across the Atlantic for newegg
with Amazon you can't just buy everything from the one seller either and have to be a jew to avoid high shipping costs accumulating
only complaint is they sold me a janky PSU but I've returned it and got a new one that works fine now so I shpose I can't fault their customer service

I think he's a good public speaker and isn't whipped into the same "party first, everything else second" mantra to the same extent as most others. Those are qualities we badly need in a leader.
Enda was just a sock puppet being directed by Noonan, he was never an authoritative figure demonstrating complete responsibility. It would be nice to have someone directly in control this time. Though I think the business interests of their wealthy supporters will see Coveney chosen.
>>74980780

>>74980949
Varadkar of the two. Simon is competent and I'd generally like leadership coming from outside Dublin but he seems too entrenched in the FG establishment. At least with Leo I know we won't wind up with useless nodding dogs like Charlie Flanagan or Mary Mitchell O'Connor in important ministerial positions.
I don't know much about the candidates but I know that Leo manages to piss off SJWs despite being gay so that has to be good

When I get back to Australia I will do a Google street tour of Dublin.
>>74981813
If he's chosen it'll be a global story on Ireland's progressiveness for electing both a homosexual and a minority. I think we'd be the largest country to have a gay leader and one of the few to ever do so. It may change our reputation on a global scale, particularly in America.
He's also very pro-globalist and has labelled Ireland as a "Globalist" country which most right wingers would shy away from even if it's the truth.
The butthurt will swing many ways from this outcome but I think it'll be a net benefit for those "SJWs". The nationalist conservatives will be the ones left scratching their heads at the most right wing option in the Irish political system being a gay pro-globalist, anti-church brown man.
>>74982097
So you're saying we'll be bullied to death with gold faces and poo memes?

>Voting a gay leader

>>74982181
>>74982892
>>74982892
The Irish politcal system is a bit all over the place. You have nationalists supporting SF, big business supporting FG and the religious socially conservative supporting FF. It's hard to have a strong right wing presence with those bases fragmented. You could say the same about the left. End result is every party just hovering around the centre with vague mutterings on what they stand for outside of their core premise.
>>74983467
Core premise: get votes.
>>74982097
>we'd be the largest country to have a gay leader and one of the few to ever do so
Unless we are first, not many people will care.
And Belgium is much larger than us and has already had one.
>may change our reputation on a global scale
No it won't. It might get a few thousand upvotes on reddit and a page in a few newspapers but that, I imagine, will be about it.
Within a few hours nobody will care, and they will have moved onto the next Trump scandal.
>>74983949
>And Belgium is much larger than us
Even if you meant larger as in more relevant you'd still be wrong.
>>74984238
I meant population obviously.
Why would you assume I'd be talking about land mass? It is completely irrelevant.
>>74984238
Isn't Canada's PM a bender?
>>74984390
He's married to a woman.
>>74984365
"Belgium is much larger" sounds like you're talking about size.
>It is completely irrelevant.
Which is why I was confused.
>>74983949
They'll be reminded of it every year on St Patricks day. I think it'd be more relevant than that otherwise, Americans are looking for contrasts to Trump around the globe all the time. I wouldn't be surprised if our new gay leader became a frequent comparison to someone who is seen as a throwback to the past.
Leo is also quite outspoken so I'm sure will provide many nice sound bites for the global media on the likes of Trump and Brexit that will keep attention on him. He's expected to be a very different kind of leader to the media shy Enda.
>>74984404
So was Oscar Wilde
From what I can gather from wikipedia Leo would be the 5th openly gay head of government in modern times and considering the only current one is Luxembourg we would be the largest country in the world to have a gay leader.
>>74984698
Oscar was a qt.
>>74984849
He sure was
>>74984698
He acts like a young sexually comfortable man. Most closet gays tend be self hating, insistent on their sexuality and overcompensate through aggressively pursuing stereotypical masculine pursuits. The sort of guys who call others faggots, have no friends, have low self esteem and spend a severe amount of time in the gym is the stereotypical profile of the closeted homo.
