With only a couple of exceptions that I can think of, all of the god-tier jazz and blues musicians throughout history have been black, and I listen to them quite a lot. Charles Mingus is my particular favourite. I also like mid-90s hip-hop, when it was passionate and political and spoke about the hopelessness of the black man's situation in USA. Now it's just hurr durrr drugs and sex nonsense, so I don't listen to much rap music anymore.
