The picture says in Early Modern German: "Vom S. Maricen und siner geselschaft"

Which literally means: "Of St. Maurice and his company".

The man in the picture is not an Arthurian knight, but a 3rd century Saint who was very commonly depicted as a black man (albeit the historical Maurice may well likely have not been black).

The fact that St. Maurice didn't immediately come to mind of the person who wrote this only indicates a lack of education. As soon as you see a black guy in armour - in particular a black guy in armour bearing the insignia of the Holy Roman Empire, you should immediately think of St. Maurice.
