To be fair, Bush 2 was the best thing for the US' relative global power since Teddy.

Just look at the (relative) difference between pre-2008 and post-2008 geopolitical relations. When the US does well economically, it helps other nations more. When the US does poorly, everyone else dies.

>Obama/Hillary/John Kerry made a total mockery of the US to the rest of the world

i have a relatively neutral stance on us-politics, but i can definitely say that's not really the case.

obama is seen as a good guy who for whatever reasons couldn't do everything he wanted to do.

kerry is seen as kind of an activist type by most who know him, but not necessarily in a negative way.

clinton might be seen as kind of a shady and evil person here, but trump is seen as a spoiled child who has by some chance come into office, further intensifying the stereotype of 'stupid americans' and their belief in conspiracy theories.

It works like this. Basically, other cunts like leaders who weaken the US and dislike those who promote American power/exceptionalism blah blah blah. So yeah, it works just like the example you cited with Russia. Foreign companies were buying entire forests in the 90s and US military personnel were walking around on Russian nuclear missile bases.

When Fidel Castro called Obama "the most advanced person from a human standpoint to ever run for president in the US", it tells you something and that something isn't exactly kosher.

Like for people from the Right who felt like they were suffering under 8 years of Obama Hillary might as well have been Voldemort and Trump as an outsider who seemed above the usual behaviors of politicians must have actually seemed like the hope and change politician. That's fucking laughable if you pay any attention to the man's business dealings and private life, but becomes less so when you realize how people got to that place and that there is a lot of suffering when it comes to small town America.

But then you just have crazy people who should know better. I remember a Republican coworker of mine who said that the great thing about the Trump Presidency was how transparent they would be, this is from someone who actually lives in NY so they had no fucking excuse to be that retarded.

It's more representative of the will of the American people that the electoral college ever will be, specifically for the problem with less voter turnout. 40% of Americans couldn't be bothered to vote this election and looking at the results it's always hard to tell them that they should have because the electoral college allows lines on the map to make one person's vote count more than another's.

Honestly even people who win through the electoral college don't like the electoral college that much because it puts you in a position where you have the office, but by every measurable standard it seems like the American people didn't actually want you there. That's why Trump spent the first month of his presidency swearing up and down that he actually one the popular vote and when that wasn't the case, that all those votes counted against him were illegals.

You act as if a president has never won with the popular vote.

Take away California and Trump wins the popular vote by a similar margin. I personally don't want California deciding the president every election and you shouldn't either. The electoral college gives smaller states incentive to stay in a union, otherwise we would just be ruled by a few states like the EU is.
>>
It's not merely the presidency, but Democrats have been _decimated_ at all levels of government from Congress down to state and local offices. They are literally at their weakest point since the 1920s. On top of which, they've hemorrhaged seats steadily in every election cycle since 2010.

So as much as Tumblr will complain about the EC, I can very much say that the American voter has massively rejected the Democrat Party.
>>
>>74912558
It's taking time admittedly, because the Dems intentionally created a snarled, twisted mess that would be a headache for anyone trying to remove it.

He's said in no unclear terms he would not overturn any rulings on abortion rights since Roe v. Wade and PP v. Casey were codified, and he just ruled that the NC voter id laws were unconstitutional. He seems like a moderate to me and is not in line with Trump's claims of "looking at voter fraud".

It's not exactly impressive that the GOP was bitching about Obamacare for 8 years and didn't manage to come up with an alternative.

They can't even get their own narrative straight. "Oh wah, the EC is unfair. The Russians stole the election. If the election were held a week earlier, we would have won."

Every election since 2000 that Democrats lose, they come up with some excuse.

>2000
"EC is unfair the USSC decided the election mmuh hanging chads."
>2004
"Diebold rigged the Ohio voting machines."
>2010, 2014
"Mmmmmidterms don't count."

The House Reps votes to repeal the AHCS over 50 times in 7 years even with a majority. It never passed muster because the health care industry and insurance companies actually helped created the bill and knew the intricacies of health care.
>>
>>74912742
Abortion should be voted on, the USSC should never have ruled on it in the first place.

>The House Reps votes to repeal the AHCS over 50 times in 7 years even with a majority
Derp. Obama would just veto it every time.
>It never passed muster because the health care industry and insurance companies
You have any idea how many handouts they got from this thing? Nobody wants to rub out the hand that feeds them.

Meanwhile, you the average schmuck has to pay a bullshit fine for not buying a bullshit health care plan that no doctors will accept.
>>
>>74912824
>Abortion should be voted on
On what grounds today? What new cases have occurred that would throw into question 40 years of judicial decisiond.
>>
>>74912876
One of the big problems people have with abortion is that it was legalized with an arbitrary Supreme Court ruling and never voted on. Leftards have consistently refused to let anyone vote on it.
>>
I guess nobody ever gave them the message that blacks get more abortions than any other demographic. Democrats are essentially supporting black genocide. :^)

You mistake my point. The Republicans had 8 years to come up with a better healthcare plan but chose to pass through a bill that they wouldn't let their constituents read. When you vote to repeal a law you are supposed to do so with at the very least a reasonable alternative.
For the second point you have to buy insurance because without it your health care costs become much higher when you visit an emergency room or have even the slightest health problem that requires a trip to the doctor. Same with car insurance, you never plan to get in an accident but it happens and without it there is no way you can afford the thousands of dollars of repair. The more people paying into a service the more affordable it is for everyone, it's very simple.
>>
>>74913101
The Constitution does not give the Federal government the ability to force you to buy anything. Car insurance is at the state and local levels, not the Federal level.

1)The Supreme Court, the highest court in the land, is not arbitrary
2)Cases are appealed to the Supreme Court when people bring in to question the legality of existing laws, cases don't go to the Supreme Court alone
3)Please read up on abortion laws going back to the 1830s in the US and the long historical legal battles surrounding them in every state

Obama's presidency was just bad all around for everyone except his celebrity/Tumblr friends.

>middle class eroding
>silent drug epidemic afflicting suburban America
>Mudslimes overrunning entire countries
>lowest workforce participation since the 1970s
>racial tensions at their worst since the 1960s
>>
>>74913194
Courts interpret laws, they are not supposed to make them. That's fundamental civics 101.
>>
>>74913284
Abortion is not a protected right under the Bill of Rights. If anything it should be left to the state and local levels.
>>
>>74913185
The Supreme Court voted on it in 2014 and they came to the conclusion that the government can mandate all citizens to have some form of insurance or pay a penalty (read:tax that goes to paying for healthcare).
>>
>>74913317
If you can show me one place in the Constitution where that is allowed, and keep in mind that the Supreme Court once also ruled on a thing called the Fugitive Slave Act, so don't act as if they have always been correct and followed the Constitution properly.
>>
>>74913284
I'll tell that to the justices then.
>>
>>74913383
Hey man I'm just a guy shitposting at work, if you have issues with the way the Supreme Court votes take it up with them.

How is this Obama's fault?
>>
>>74913492
I think the part where he decided to go out there with a megaphone yelling "There will be justice!" every time some ghetto thug got tazered by cops was a start. But what did you expect from a guy who sat for 20 years in a church with a minister who cursed out white people every Sunday.

Obama was the guy who called the Ft. Hood shooting "workplace violence".

Don't listen to that race-baiter who is completely diregarding the crackdown on crack in the '80s and police brutality of the '90s when 60 people were killed in LA. The poster clearly hasn't interacted with a black person IRL.

Stop committing crimes and the cops won't kick your ass. It's not that hard.

Some issues are complicated.
To quote a guy you might know: "Nobody knew health care could be so complicated"
