Do the German Army still use these helmets today?
No. And they weren't very good helmets anyway, the Germans wanted to replace them in 1942 but hitler didn't want to because it would "change their image". So even through a better, safer, and more ergonomic helmet was developed naziboos still cling to "muh stahlhelm"

They don't, the version thry use today has very little in common with a m35/m44

Source?
>>74898998
why don't they still use the m56 helmet?
>>74899203
The East German helmet was the new helmet they developed
>we will never use them again
>>74899300
What was the top point for anyways?
>>74899300
Is there a story behind the spike?

headbutting
>>74898998
No, but we recently had some guy kicked out of the army because he was a Nazi or something
So now our meme-tier news are discussing, among other things, whether or not that type of helmet is a "right-wing hate-symbol"
>you can't make this shit up
>>74899318
if you fall off the horse you aim for the enemy soldiers
>>74899345
>history is a right-wing hate symbol

Don't know
But If you run out of ammunition you can bump into enemies and stab them with your head.

>"Hey, let's make a new helmet, one that is cheaper and better than the M1915-M44"
>"great idea!"
> proceeds to creat arguably one of the worst helmets ever made.
>>74898998
I mean if you consider the PASGT a sort of continuation of the Stalhelm shape, then to some degree yes. Post war the East Germans used
>>74899275
Which was actually pretty great as far as steel helmets of the period go for ballistic protection. The West Germans used copies of our M1 helmet. In the early 90's they decided that the PASGT helmet was politically safe enough to use since it was then seeing widespread export.

it looks like ass but it's actually hyper fucking efficient
>>74899480
>Germans were so fucking aesthetic that it became taboo to use their stuff
impressive desu
Why there are a lot of these German military shirts in the flea markets worldwide?
