Violent crime excluding homicide is higher in yurop than the states. Homicide occurs mostly within an existing relationship (wife kills husband) or gang violence. It is not relevant to public safety. Mass shootings like Orlando, Paris etc are statistical anomalies.

Alaska is like 15% Native, and a large amount of them live in very rural regions where there's no jobs and high alcoholism and mental illness rates. They make up most of the prison population in Alaska, and are mainly responsible for their more higher murder-rate. Alaska is literally 'le-62%-white'.
