In japan, police is practice kendo.
Police also learn Judo and karate but kendo police is somehow survive well. Because they are used to use long weapon, so if criminal uses someone long iron stick or knife then kendo police is much easier.
Judo police is good to arrest but sometimes die by knife.

I like kenjitsu more though. Like Kuroda Tetsuzan is the right way of useing katana properly.

Sure. Kendo, Judo, Karate etc. we even won some medal in the last Olympics.
