I'm going to tell a story.

So I traveled to Croatia one time with two friends, an American guy and a Latvian girl.
On the second night we camped. We opened a few bottles of wine and drank them by the mediterranean. The American guy went to sleep early, but me and the Latvian girl stayed up.
We walked around the camp, talking, drinking, and we came up to this road leading into the camp and an old entrance. We stayed there for a while and then the Latvian girl called my attention something she saw in the canopy of the trees in the distance, in the direction of the road. I looked and what it was was a bouncing white light, going up and down the canopy of the trees in a somewhat erratic motion.
We couldn't say how far it was, but we were drunk, so we decided going wandering away from the camp at night was a good idea.
So we start walking the road. At first, it was all good. The road had lights we were talking and wondering what it could be. She was telling me stories of her life in Latvia about strange nights. Then dogs started barking. We were scared at that time, we were in the middle of lit road, and we couldn't see any houses, but the barking seemed to not be moving so we assumed the dogs were in some house in the middle of the woods we couldn't see.
Then the road stopped having any lights. It was pitch dark, us being in the middle of a road in the middle of the woods.
And then we couldn't hear the dogs barking anymore, because we walked some distance in pitch blackness.
At which point we realised we were being somewhat retarded. She got scared, so we started walking back into the camp and we never got to know what the bouncing white light was.

It's a shit story, but it was pretty exciting to have lived it.

this is probably the weirdest one

I was working with some gyprock last year at prominent household in Adelaide Australia, and I was feeling an honest sense of dread when placing the paneling to sub-divide this old hills house. There was this buzz in the air, inaudible, but like a magnet, pulling the gyprock off the guides.

I figured the floor might have been askew, and sure enough the spirit-level showed a dip in the ground to the Cathedral Street end. Very slight; only 99.94, but I assumed that that was the cause of the aberration. It took an afternoon of very bad vibes (plus Damo had failed to turn up for his shift due to spending a bit to long at the RSL Tuesday night haha!) but finally I'd got the floor leveled, even exposed the heritage slate in the deep left pocket.

Unfortunately this leveling had thrown out my original measurements and had wasted my entire day on the site, and yet still the gyprock seemed to wander. It was a blessing that the home owner was such a welcoming and friendly chap; I must have looked a little spooked or something, he asked me about my day and I explained. He, of course, explained some history

So apparently, this "Marsh" family, (absolute frission on hearing that name) had had two sons living in this very room! They never wanted to be split up, even into adulthood, their father had to make absolutely sure that they stayed together no matter what. Pretty innocuous stuff, but there was apparently some bad mojo they carried around regardless, apparently caused rack and ruin to anything they became involved with.

I had to give up the job, just too freaky, but apparently tradie after tradie has been through that house with a similar story to tell: The owner of that house is such a top bloke, but fuck the Marsh brothers eh?
