They were kicked out of Norway because of trouble with other clans (some killings and shit). They had nowhere to go so they settled new lands. Their new land soon became norwegian, but in 1814 it was taken away from Norway by the anti-napoleon alliance and given to Denmark. The icelanders didn't like Denmark and kicked them out in 1950 I think it was.
