The worker is protected by assloads of laws and agreements that only the big companies can handle. It's no wonder the unemployment is so high. Also, work is highly taxed to feed the social state.

I don't know which war you mean but the welfare state didn't exist pre-WW2 or it sure as hell wasn't as ubiquitous.

It's an invention of the 60s and 70s and coincides with an increase of unemployment from that period since all those welfare state benefits came with higher taxes.
