That's not how evolution works- it was not "lack of use", otherwise we wouldn't have appendixes. It was due to higher survival rates of those with white skin as it was better adapted to the less UV rich environment, and so those with white skin passed on their genes more.

Bad times started for Persia in 7th AD with the rise of the Arabian-Muslims. In India it was 12 AD with the Muslim-Turks.

That chunk of Southern India in pic related only got conquered through the Mughal Empire in the early 18th Century and were one of the first ones to gain independence (if I remember my Eastern history correctly) after Augrenzab's rampage. They remained independent until the late British East India Company came knocking on the shores a century later.
