IQ doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, if a student rack disciprine he won't do well even if he/she's a genius. I've noticed that Muslim parents rarely discipline their kids, they usually just let them run around on trains and scream their lungs off, in addition to there being at least 4 of them in each family.

Another thing I've noticed is that in my home country anyone at all can become a teacher, whereas in Finland there's (or used to be) at least some screening. There's also more money allocated to hobbies and other programmes for kids, you can even go horseback riding on the govt's dime.

In my home country you'd first need a private tutor because lycée teachers don't give a fuck and only teach in order to get paid, and if a student has a question both the teacher and other students get annoyed. You're not really encouraged to learn, and if you don't understand something you're basically shamed into shutting up.
Then of course you have to pay for your sports and other activities yourself, which many people can't afford.
There's other cultural things, such as Finns not being ashamed to get something wrong whereas back home you either get immediately corrected, or made fun of, but usually both.
