Our GDP per capita dropped like hell once Peron took office. Our inflation rates stayed at around 1% for the 50 years previous to Peron and Peronism. After him, with the excuse of "monetary policies" we began to get two digits inflation every 10 years. Peron, while doing quite a few nice things, introduced the short term populist behaviour that corrupted us.

Well over 70% of our current situation is our fault. Look at the crisis we've had for the last 150 years. At first they were mostly foreign made, like the first world war and the influx of immigrants, the Great Depression sending us into a crisis and military government, and the 2nd world war.
After Peron, every other crisis has had the all powerful government involved, while outside influence was still there, it was practically background noise compared to what the government and society did.
