Is there much Austrian and Hungarian cultural influence on your countries and evidence of the empire in your country. I'm seriously curious because there lots of colonial influence in other countries around the world but never hear much about AH's influence

places like vojvodina and transylvania still larp as austrohungarians and seperate from serbia and romania precisely because of this

Do you mean that they identify Austro-Hungarian to this day? Or they see themselves as culturally distinctive rather than Romanian or Serbian?
This really interesting to me. I saw some A-H flags flying in Budapest and thar gave me a happy feeling.

LARPING as LARPING
They don't identify as AHs, but as Vojvodinans and Transylvanians.
>I'm Vojvodinian not Serb
>Im Transylvanian not Romanian
who /galicia-lodomeria pro/ here?
there is no specific A-H identity so there was no such influence like you would imagine english influence on an australian
but buildings, similar folk habits, similar food, religion
the not quite western but still not russia or balkans europe (bosnia exluded, it was added late)

We were under Bavarians, Franks and then Habsburgs for a thousand years so it left a mark, sure. There's the influences on dialects (and also the literary language), the cuisine, there's the shared alpine cultural tradition,...
Woodrow Wilson was a mistake

Are there any leftover A-H influences in Hungarian culture? Obviously the German language is commonly understood along with English.
>>74405349
Indeed. Wilson fucked us over bad.
>>74405378
no the german language is not commonly understood, nor english is commonly understood, only younger generations speak it and not all of them
the influence is maybe that western hungary and austria is interconnected and we consider austrians as brothers in law (mostly)

We do have many loan words. Lots of them. But the german language is far different from any of the non austrian parts of the empire.

What do Hungarians think of Austria?

azok a szavak nem csak a monarchia idejéből valók,ennyi erővel szláv befolyásról is lehet beszélni, vagy éppen törökről

Well, we still got some Croats but soon we will get rid of them as well. Otherwise, just few buildings.
