I watched a student documentary on red dirt music a while back. The style was just a mixture of country music and alt rock tailored to the conservative tastes of 90s rural Oklahomans. But it was fun seeing all those people in white t-shirts wearing mullets at the local hang-out house, just barbecuing and hanging out with teenage runaways and drifters. Amateur films about places in the middle of nowhere are the best.
