It's like a woman's boot raised in the air
Hhnnnnngg
>>74333446
for me so does patagonia, which also has really awesome geology. and they're both thought of conceptually as the 'end of the world'
>>74333123
cities and countries that start with "new" is fuckung awful, and countries that end in "stan" too
>>74333542

>>74333542
australian italy
>New Holland (Australia)
>New Guinea (PNG)
>New Zealand
Literally fuck the Dutch, zero imagination
>>74335021
fucking hate anything named after places in other countries
literally everything here is either mandjoogoordap or mamungkukumpurangkuntjunya abo shit or it's the name of somewhere in england
>>74333123
>new world
>>74333306
the point of creating New Holland, New Guinea and New Zealand was to make a better place than the original, you know...
>>74333123
Big boy Denmark, talking shit while we're all asleep.
>>74336349

NEO ZERENDOOOOO
your city isnt worth shit if it doesnt have a "new" version
t. from Ă…lesund
>>74337009
But my city was called "New" from the beginning
>>74337108
ay we also have a newcastle (nyborg)
>>74336260
>fucking hate anything named after places in other countries
This. New Zealand should just change it's English name to Aotearoa.
>>74337108
To be fair, it was called 'new' in 1060, which is older than most actual countries here.
>>74337108
I live next to newcastle, Washington. It was named after your city because there was lots of coal mining
>>74337735
The 'orignal' Washington is a town in the Sunderland area.
Ancient home of George Washington's family.
>>74337653
Funnily enough there is in fact an "old castle" that you can visit.
>>74338036
I've been there, it's quite cool to be honest. The front gate is flanked by these two huge stone eagles.
>>74337735
>>74338137
And the family's old coat of arms has stars and red stripes..
>>74338333
Forgot picture
>>74338333
My Coat of Arms has two crossed dicks, a swastika and a picture of Mohammed.
>>74337735
we also have a Newcastle in New South Wales
>>74336567
It is a containment state for H*spanics.
now that I think about it, our state and territory names are also fucking shit
>New South Wales
>Victoria
>Australian Capital Territory, because it's the capital territory of Australia
>Western Australia, because it's west
>South Australia, because it's south
>Northern Territory, because it's north (meant to be called Kingsland at one point
>Queensland
>>74336260
Places in the United States are almost always either named after Native American tribes/villages or cities in Yurop. I was literally born in a city named "Athens, Tennessee". Our cities also look boring af.
>>74340242
and Sydney was unironically meant to be New Albion at first
>>74333123
Good ol' New Denmark am I right.
these people weren't very imaginative were they, there are like 20+ Manchester in the US
I always love how different the places are to each other and how relevant they are, like at least York is vaguely relevant compared to Jersey (small island near France), used to live near Brentwood a smallish town just outside of London/in Essex and I reckon the one in California is a bit more famous
currently live in Canterbury and there's places called that in Aus, NZ, Canada and the US
