Old English is really, really, really comfy. It sounds beautiful when spoken if the speaker is well-trained, too, the dipthongs give me such an eargasm.
I know there's a few americans and brits here that speak a second language, but those of you who don't, do you at least learn some foreign words or phrases on this board? Have you used that knowledge irl?

I really do feel like americans have fucked the language. English can be so beautiful, but more often than not people just do not care about their english skills here or any other language for that matter. We basically just mutter shit and sound like absolute cringe.

All old Germanic languages are god-tier.

Can't say, because I speak three languages. I know that stuff like 't.' and 'bunda' has caught on though.

What languages do you speak? I want to learn german but saw a video someone posted and dutch looks really easy. Made me think

I've worked out all the French equivalents of "tfw" and "mfw", and things like that, which they use just as regularly in their threads as English-speakers

I learned French from my family (grandmother is Quebecois) and in high school, and learned Japanese in university. It's been like five years since I've used either though, so I'm undoubtedly rusty.
Dutch is actually very easy to learn coming from English. It's undergone simplification like English has and has a large vocabulary of imported words.
