Some do, but the pins are still flush with the socket so getting, say, a finger in there is not difficult. You literally cannot make physical contact with the pins on the schuko plug when it's live. (and it also got ground: the two metal clips)

The europlug was designed to fit a range of different plugs, thus compromises were made; including not having ground. It's usually not a problem since it's only the end of the pins that are actually conductive, the rest is just plastic.

It is the same for the other plugs with a ground.
Except for Italy & Schuko.
But then again it is Alternating Current. So only if you are dealing with multiple phases, would it be a problem with reverse plugging.

The only _positive_ thing would be the holes in the prongs for springs to push into.
But the springs in the other types are strong enough for things to not fall out anyway.

Ours generally fit pretty tightly, and if it's loose enough to fit a fingertip into the gap it's probably fallen out already. Plus our voltage is low compared to certain madmen like, say, Australia, where sockets arc on humid days.
