Don't laugh, the only reason I installed Tera a couple of years ago was their high elves. They're not tree huggers but portrayed as this super high society people, advanced in tech, refined and elegant. They're also wearing runway fashion. It's pretty far from your usual elven schtick.
There's some depth to them too, because mentally they're not quite sane since it was the gods who destroyed their former lifestyle and connection to nature, so now they're butthurt about it. There was something about having lost their brethren, I can't remember. Originally they started out as one race, got divided, but the other group was murdered maybe.

I agree. But they're very inclined to magic on the other hand. And I appreciate that their overall theme is melancholic, and of loss like traditional elves', so they aren't THAT different. Plus they understand fully what they had lost. But they can't go through it again, so they intentionally turn the other way. It makes it all the more tragic.
