Most of the Germans who ended up living outside of Austria after WW1 lived in Czechoslovakia. About a quarter of their population at the time were ethnic Germans.

It was better for the country in the end, otherwise it might have been Yugoslavia 2.0. The actual boundaries were a bit too harsh, southern Slovakia, Northern Serbia and Háromszék should have remained, but what's done is done, and redrawing borders would just create a bigger mess.
