They want to go back to a period where they could force black slaves to live with them and fuck their wives whenever they wanted. They actually wanted to import more black slaves into the US because they just couldn't get enough of black males. This is obvious as most of Southern culture and identity is heavily influenced by blacks (banjo, religiosity, fried foods, music etc.).

I'm a yankee, but I really don't get why people are so asshurt about the confederate flag. Even black people. This flag is apart of American history and for some it is apart of their heritage. It's sad to me when Louisiana starts taking down confederate statues and things. It's like we're willingly destroying our history and culture, and for what? They had no obligation to do that. Slavery was being phased out in every other part of the world and it wasn't the North's fault that the South failed to industrialize.

Yes they did. Slavery was a national issue from day one. The founding fathers agreed to stop importing slaves by 1808, that was a national law. That's precedence m8. There was a law that stated that any runaway slave had to be returned to its owner. I don't see why slavery itself can't be an issue given the context of federal laws regarding slavery over state boundaries.
