So, there was this case with a 19 year old guy from syria raping some younger girl. The migration board said he was 19, but his family made a family tree saying his date of birth was January 9 2000. Since the court couldn't prove it wasn't, it was accepted as evidence.

Oh shit we have the same shit here, i'm not 100% sure on how it works but basically you can get charged for an exaggeration of emergency response if you use too effective of a weapon.

This one case for example, a robber came into a house and sprayed the owner with pepper spray after which the owner stabbed the robber and the owner got a bigger sentence than robber and had to pay thousands of euros to the robber for pain and scars.

If the police thinks that releasing the images might aid substantially towards the resolution of the case then THEY will release them.

Remember "innocent until proven guilty"? If the case turns out to have been bullshit or there is some other exonerating circumstance that means the case doesn't lead to a conviction then releasing those images will basically have been a smear-job.

whataboutism is not a valid legal argument. the facts are clear and simple, deadly force vs non-deadly force. same reason you can't claim self-defense if someone comes at you fists waving and you shoot him.

Using whataboutism is a perfectly valid argument for reasoning one's behavior in a self defense situation, if my house gets broken into and someone comes charging at me i will not give a fuck if he only has his fists or if he has a knife i will use everything in my power to stop the threat to my life.

It is in america, stand your ground laws.
Yanks work on the presumption that if you feel in danger you have the right to go nuclear.
And they are right, the kind of force is irrelevant, what matters is if you are in danger.
The moment the other guy is not a danger to you - you shouldn't be allowed to shoot or hit him (no shooting in the back, no kicking when he's down), but until then any defence is justifiable.
Any other position is bullshit, I ain't taking punches when I have a gun.
>>
>>73968397
That was like just for a day and it's pretty easy to tell who was rioting
>>
>>73968518

If you don't have reason to believe that you're in actual, mortal peril (Which you don't if the other guy doesn't have a lethal weapon) then there is no reason to allow you to use lethal force against him.

I disagree.
Any danger to my health and safety could escalate. We're not talking about my stuff here, an invader could try to force me to reveal where my 'riches' are. An old couple were tortured in this manner when they got robbed.
An invader is a danger and he could use my weapon against me if I don't use it against him. Remember these people aren't rational actors in a calm situations.
If I was ever in a situation like that I'd prefer that the robber runs, but if he attacks any system that tells me I have to go easy on him can suck my dick, this isn't a fucking duel, it's an unlawful attack on my person.
Damn right I'll put my safety above his.

Do you know that there are some places in Africa where they still solve tribal conflicts by fighting with spears and shields?

They've realized that if one tribe started using guns to get the advantage then it wouldn't take long before the other tribe had guns too and the number of deaths resulting from their conflicts would rise massively.

I'll give you a minute to see if you can tell how this relates to what we were talking about.
>>
>>73969109
Yeah, to take a human life you only need a few minutes and hands around the persons throat. Even less if you happen to have literally any kind of knife, just slit the throat and there is no way they will survive.
>>
>>73969130
>tribe conflicts in Africa somehow relate to self defense situations
I think i'll need a bit more than a minute.
>>
>>73969256

Let me put it this way.

The number of armed home invasions that happen in Scandinavia is very low, as are the actual number of fatalities and injuries resulting from home invasions in general.

If the robbers knew they might run into someone with a gun, do you think it would stay that way?

Do you think that allowing escalation of force in self-defense might possibly lead to the criminals escalating the force THEY bring to bear?
>>

>because Isis is against everyone except those who belong to Isis
high quality banter

Reminds me of the Turkish guy who called Germans a Köterrasse (dog breed, kind of). The public prosecutors did not sue him for incitement of a people, because Germans are the majority, hence no part of the population and could thus not be legally insulted.

>>
>>73969529
First off, if someone invades a home while someone is home he isn't trying to rob the house anymore, he is looking to hurt someone. Therefore as long as the armament gets the job done it doesn't matter if it is a gun or a knife.

Secondly the possibility that you might get shot trying to invade a home might very well decrease the number of home invasions because who the fuck wants to get shot.

These are both fine.

Actually the drone one seems fairly elegant, put less restrictions on how and where you can use drones but require them to be identifiable.
>>
>>73971228

If it's like every other law like this it has nothing to do with how physically "big" the weapon is but about how lethal it is.

So if someone is coming at them with a stick you can also hit them with a stick but you can't shoot them.

The fireworks one is more than reasonable.

If people did that shit randomly all year around I would fucking kill myself.
>>
>>73968143
In my case this is a good thing, because there is guy in the city I live in who as stole a couple times from the groccery store I useually shop at. It's get weird at times, people who know him see me ever now and then, the similarity is quite extreme appearently.

I also wonder what on Earth this guy is like in general, because everytime I'm doing something normal and it seems to freak these people out additionally. Once when I was waiting to get picked up by a friend, someone drow past me, the passenger stuck his head out and stared in awe all the way to the cross section.
