>>
>>73955186
Well, first of all:

Everyone has given up. Opposition's efforts to kick out all the corrupts in the government and everyone has lost faith in them. The people opposing the government have lost any political figure to rely on. Sometimes groups call to protests via twitter, and there's protests, but it can only last for so long before the military beat the shit out of them and, well, everyone's pretty tired now.

The government has the upper hand right now. They have the military at their command, guerrilla and paramilitary groups. The civilians are defenseless. Which is why everyone are escaping before Maduro gets crazy ideas and closes the border forever. A bunch of airlines have left the country already so people are getting more paranoid about leaving before we can't get out.

The only people that can lead a normal life right now are chavistas, people that benefit from the current situation, and those aligned with the government, or have contacts to get them the stuff they need. Hospitals are a mess No medicines, lack of maintenance makes viral diseases spread all around the place. Diseases that were eradicated years ago are appearing again. Luckily I never got chikungunya or any of that shit. Not everyone were so lucky.

Right now we have to rely on twitter to know what's going on, because most local papers have been shut down by the government, most unbiased news channels have been shut down too, so we have to rely on rumors to know what's going on in other places. Literally all the protests have been ignored by national news channels, they pretend nothing is happening.
>>

>>
>>73955930

>>73955900
"pure" german girls are strange, they are extremly annoying, not in a materialistic way, but personally I can't really get along with them. I'm getting along fine with slavic girls. They tend to be more chill and politically conservative. I don't like german women acting like sluts, partying every weekend sucking dicks, smoking and I don't like their looks most of the time. Of course there are exceptions, but these are my reasons.

The military control everything. Unless you got a military friend that will do that shit for you, that won't be happening. Also, the ones who get the weapons are thugs and organized crime. A normal civilian can't pull out that sort of thing without the contacts.

>>
>>73956016
By now, nobody cares as long as they end the food/medicine shortage and they can return to their normal lives. Before we hit this low people used to protest against it, but now they are so desperate they even welcome it, as long as it ends the chaos.

In my opinion, any kind of intervention is welcome. Maduro has stated over and over again that he has no intention to let go of power, and if isn't him, it'll be another of his buddies taking his place. There's no legal means of taking him out when the whole legal system is his bitch.

>>73956069
Personality Cult. Chavez spent 14 years brainwashing people into idolizing him.

Of course, the problem as a whole is much more complex than that, there are a lot of other factors involved, and I could write a long post over it, but it's more or less the core of the issue. Nobody ever questioned Chavez decisions and he constantly painted himself as a godlike savior figure. Maduro took advantage of this, and used it to do all sort of stupid shit and have no one question him.

Venezuelans spent a good decade and a half being brainwashed and a allowed many suspicious shit to go unnoticed, and now this is what happens.

>>73956132

By the way, caraotas negras are ridicoulously easy to find at any decent supermarket here and they're cheap as fuck

Uhh, no? At least in Brazil 90%+ migrated to CS:GO. And I'd say LoL is more popular than CS, although CS used to be the most popular one and is now slowly regaining that title.

I'm almost sure they are Mexicans, Peruvians or whatever but you guys can't tell them apart from Brazilians.
We got our own servers with nice ping and no technical problems, why would you play a game like CS with high ping? It's so nerve-wracking it's almost impossible. Not every country in South America has good ping on our servers though, since the servers are located in Brazil, some of them even get better ping on american servers, which is why you see some sudacas playing with you.

Sometimes we go to the movies, if we're lucky we have enough for popcorn and a drink. Sometimes we don't buy anything. Some people that really have money go clubbing. I used to make paintings and bake cakes, but the materials are too expensive and it's hard to find them.

Alcohol is pretty expensive now so it's hard to even get drunk. It sucks when it's christmas or father or mother's day, there's nothing you can give/receive. Birthdays now only have cakes because they can't afford anything else. Last birthday party I was starving and wanted to eat the cake already.

Most stores and some malls closed off, so pretty much eating what you can afford and maybe go to the movies is a way to pass time.

Yesterday I had to make a line to buy bread. It's the same for beef and chicken. There's lines for almost everything.
>>

Nah, afaik that kind of stuff never was popular around here, people buy their own consoles. I've seen something like that more than once near poor neighborhoods though, but it was a long time ago. Even cybercafes are almost non-existent nowadays since almost everyone's got their own PC with internet at home.

With that, anything. Plenty of clothes, maybe a new cellphone, any food you want, a trip to another city. That's a lot of money, you'd be rich in here, or kidnapped by thugs.

I saw a couple of backpackers in 2015, but I haven't met any foreigners ever since. There's a travel warning for Venezuela, so I wouldn't be surprised that nobody wants to step a foot in here. Most foreigners that I know are family of venezuelans that live somewhere else and come to visit.

>>73957227
Never, as far as people know.
Don't think so, nope.
>>
>>73956626
No background in economics, but this is the situation as I understand it:

Over-dependence on oil as the main driver of the economy and for government finances meant that when prices dipped, the economy simultaneously tanked. All the money that should have been put into diversifying the economy was squandered on things like the military. The Venezuelan government responded to its own fiscal hole by printing money: rapid inflation ensued, making it more expensive to buy everything, especially considering that so much of everything is imported. To prevent prices from rising too high, price controls were instituted, which then led to shortages as sellers made less money and had to import/manufacture less to break even/reduce losses. In response to shortages, the government went ahead and seized control of warehouses and factories, forcing them to make goods available. Now no one wants to set up shop or do business in Venezuela..

tl;dr
Dutch disease and economic downturn were magnified into outright economic meltdown by short-sighted government policies.

Compared to the United States, Canada is generally more receptive of immigrants. Generally speaking, we aren't nearly as obsessed with where you come from. If you can speak English or French, have some education (at least high school), and have useful skills, you have a strong chance of getting accepted.

Paramedic is a good occupation with stable (but not spectacular) prospects: if you can get a job offer in Canada, that will help towards getting accepted for immigration. Last I heard, there's fairly strong demand in Alberta for people in the field.

Cursory search on Google reveals some resources that may be useful:

It wasn't easy to own a gun in the first place. Most of people that own a gun do so under illegal trades. Usually stolen from the police. Armories closed off many years ago.

Most of the thugs have guns from dealing with military and the police. Organized crime is sided with Maduro, and because they work alongside military and the police, it's easy for them to get guns. Military themselves often assault local stores and small business, so it's not unreasonable.

11 military guards died recently trying to rob a bakery. That sort of thing happens often in here.

Please take care of yourself and remember that all of this will pass.

>>
>>73995788
No. I'm from Colombian ancestry.
According to what my friends tell me, emigrating to Chile and Argentina is better because you can get citizenship faster. Some emigrated to the US via political shelter, but under those circumstances they can't return to Venezuela or they'll lose their right to stay in US ground.

Venezuelans aren't very fond of EU because most of them don't want to learn a second language to emigrate. If they must, they'll go to Spain, but most of them think Spain doesn't give a lot of opportunities to immigrants, and the economy isn't good. It's just what I hear.
Besides, most Venezuelans go to places like Florida or Miami, where they know other latinos reside, so they feel comfortable than in any place in EU.

>>73995790

>>
>>73995790
To add:
Most local media is biased in favor of the government, so they can't be trusted. Sometimes they don't even cover up protests, and pretend nothing happens.

Most local papers that were unbiased were shut down by the government, so there isn't any reliable news source left. CNN was banned from here, but they are still more reliable than local news media. Other news channels from Colombia also try to keep covering up news from here despite also being kicked out by the government. I read those too.
>>
>>73995877
>>73996121
Thanks, I appreciate the support.
>>
>>73996072
I'm originally from Caracas, I took advantage of my grandparents being portus and got my citizenship in order come live here legally. The second language thing is a pretty lame excuse imo

I'd advise you to try and get colombian citizenship if you can, I know it may not sound like much but I've heard from quite a few acquaintances that just showing a venezuelan passport at any airport will give you trouble.

Also, unless you have connections in the US or don't mind living and working like a slave for at least 10 years or more, I don't think the US is a viable option. I keep hearing that things Argentina aren't exceptionally good either so your best options might be Chile or Panama imo
>>

I'd say highly unlikely to happen. The goverment controls the armed forces, and they're not afraid of killing innocent people.

>And if so would they slaughter the "rich people" in the rich streets without caring of what country they are from?

No, unless your friends own something like a bakery or anything related to food, they should be safe as long as they don't get involved in a protest.

shut up man, give us a breack, the venezuelan guy said it, no one wants any war.
and you may consider the main reason of the left armed organizations in LA as an effect of your dumb belic policies.

I already have colombian citizenship.
I also think it's a lame excuse, but maybe it's just me, I like learning different languages.

I have never been to the amazon, but I've heard is unpleasant unless you get along with the local tribes.

>>73996768
Luckily, the number of people calling us like that has decreased.

>>73997149
I read the news, but I haven't met anyone that does that.

>>73997381
Right now it's not possible. People are tired and afraid, and morale is low. We don't have the necessary resources to fight back.

>>73999234
Your pale, pink skin would betray you.

Twitter. Venezuelans use it a lot to spread information about what's going on in the protests. However this leads to the problem that information is unverified, and often it leads to fake news.

hope you have an amazing time here. Which city are you heading to?
>>
Will you try your best to get to the nearest embassy and apply for humanitarian asylum?
>>
>>73999962
I'm afraid is too late for me to change course. I'm almost done with preparations to leave for Colombia.

However, once I'm there, I'll try to. It's easier to get papers for other countries when you're not Venezuelan (I plan to apply as a Colombian citizen). Most embassies have left, and the ones that haven't are rejecting venezuelans.

Bogota.

Good choice. Having columbian citizenship is a huge advantage. The monthly wage in your field must be somewhere between 500-600 USD a month as entry level, you certainly won't be making minimum wage as a paramedic.

Look for your nearest chilean consulate. Don't need to get your ass to the embassy. You'll never get here (or anywhere else for that matter) from congolombia. Borders closing everywhere for them. Do it faggot.

Venezuela 10/10

You used to get it in your fishnets
Now you only get it in your night dress
Discarded all the naughty nights for niceness
Landed in a very common crisis
Everything's in order in a black hole
Nothing seems as pretty as the past though
That Bloody Mary's lacking in Tabasco
Remember when you used to be a rascal?

Me too. Just thought of it thinking about Venezuela. Used to be the guys that went to miami for weekend shooping. I really really feel bad for the average venebro. Being so close to them and not being able to realisticly help them, feels bad af.
