Who do you think is going to win the French election? I think Macron and Melenchon finish 1st and 2nd, Le Pen 3rd, Fillon 4th
Then Macron wins the runoff by 15-20 points
>>
No way Le Pen doesn't make it to at least to the second round.

Macron probably ends up being her opponent. Melanchon is a meme candidate and Fillion is pretty much out at this point.

Macron was a member of the Socialist Party, minister in a socialist government. He's a pro-business liberal globalist that denies French culture or French people exist. He is a leftist, more so than most American Democrats.

Mélenchon is even more leftist because he is all this, plus commie-tier policies. He's got actual USSR flags being waved during his meetings, he is supported by the Communist Party, he wants 100% income tax for high earners, and other funny stuff like that.

Politics doesnt exclusively involve economic issues, if we were to do that than Hitler would be far left. Libertarians are right wing because they deny almost all forms of social institutions. Most libertarians consider themselves social conservatives anyway and the extreme individualism that coincides with libertarianism is a reflection of this social belief

Tbh speaking from an international perspective I can give a bit of insight.

I follow European affairs pretty closely(in particular European financial news) and the financial community is all aboard the macron train. I've heard of Juppe in passing but admittedly don't know much about him. There was momentum behind Fillon until the scandal with the kickbacks with his family and, since then, Macron has gotten very good publicity from the press. The FT essentially has Macron coming in first with Le Pen in second although they have the far left guy, melenchon, surging due to his debate performance.

However, their narrative is that he has gained due to fillon's failure and that he is expected to challenge le pen for 2nd place and the run off because he is consolidating the center left in addition to his already strong support from the hard left. This, obviously, is worrying to the financial sector so you can expect attacks on his character and policies which will see Macron win easily in the run-off. There seems to be ambivalence towards Le Pen. She obviously would be good for businesses (yes, her anti-immigration policies will please the average low-class Frenchman but she will also be MUCH better than hollande in regards to the financial sector) but her anti-immigration stance is getting push back because it would mean higher wages for workers and, thus, less profit for the capital owners. Overall, the general stance is that Le Pen would be preferred over the far left due to the financial/tax/economic standpoint of Le pen, but the elites are very much behind Macron and Macron lacks the obvious deficiencies that hillary had.

As a result, Macron will win the run off easily.

in short, Macronwinslol

The point I am making is that Maron will unanimously have the elites behind him and, as a result, will win easily. The media only serves as a proxy to show how much support he has from them.

People want to make a comparison betwixt hillary vs trump and the french election but it is not that similar due to the vastly different geopolitical climates of the US and France in addition to the fact that macron does not have a pedophile running his campaign
>>
>>73954868
Macron is the candidate of the media, no doubt.

However, his popularity remains artificial, and he is probably slightly overrated in the polls.

There is doubt that he will be able to qualify for the second round, and the main worry of the French press is that Mélenchon could qualify along with Le Pen, which would be a terminal meltdown for the system (an anti-EU commie who literally wants to end the Republic vs. an anti-EU, anti-immigration, authoritarian, protectionist leader).

I think Fillon is more solid than the polls say, and will get in the second place with a very tiny lead over Macron. Le Pen is first.

Then, anyone who opposes Le Pen will win, although the economic elites will have a very hard time accepting the commie Mélenchon and MIGHT choose Le Pen instead (or probably be divided). The political elite will choose Mélenchon though. And a good part of right-wing voters should choose Le Pen if she's against Macron or Mélenchon.

Virtually everyone would be better than Mélenchon. He is the most dangerous candidate by far. Politically, he wants to repeal the whole constitution. Economically, we're going towards Venezuela-style socialism, but without the oil. Culturally... it's just toxic, delirious leftism. You see the problem.

And it wouldn't be so bad if he weren't so incredibly talented. His speeches are "right in the feels". But he will terminate our country.

Yes, he was very much about individualism but the fabric of French society is at risk. Not even pol-larping but if you truly believe that the africans and muslims that are currently flocking to France en masse are in any way representative to what Camus envisioned, let alone similar to the period of 1940s and 1950s France, then it's not even worth arguing

Again, you truly need to consider the historical perspective in which people lived. There is no other thing, ever since the beginning of capitalism the state has back it and developed along side it, whether is was the English government destroying the commons, the French government's protectiosm, the German state banks etc. Pretty much every developed Asian nation has large state involvement in the economy, even Hong Kong. The state is an integral part of capitalism.

Socialism = workers owning the means of production. France doesn't fall under this. No i just think marriage in itself doesnt mean much nowadays, i dont care if dem gays can get married too.
>>
>>73960393
Formalities make the difference between copulating apes and men.

Your stance on marriage before the "oppression" of the Church is more or less valid, as it is very broad.

And in case you didn't remark, "all you need for a family is a woman" is now wrong, since our Macrons decided that two men fucking each other in the butt were a family, and a married one at that.

Technically, Nero did """marry""" twice with other men though, but that was Nero. A literal madman.
>>
>>73956267
>But they will unanimously vote for him
Nope, coming from a lefty family, no one will vote Fillon whatever happens. It always goes one way, so he can fuck off now.
I'd rather see Le Pen win since she would have a chance to be thrown out of office pretty fast.
>>
>>73960393
>gays don't interfere with the process

It's a ratchet effect. Once you allow faggots to marry, they'll start demanding something else.
>>
>>73960799
And the result of marriage "not meaning much nowadays" (which is true) is the invasion of our nation, to replace the unborn.

After 15 days of intense propaganda, they may change their minds. I doubt there's going to have significant abstention compared to the first round.

The reasoning will be: let's vote for Fillon to save the Republic, but we'll counter him by voting leftist at the législatives :DDD
>>
>>73960843
You're missing the point so hard it isn't even funny.
Families exist EVERYWHERE in the world, middle east, chinkland, maybe some weird jungle niggers don't have it - but even tribal niggers probably have it.
Gays don't make it go away. They simply don't. Them being recognized by law doesn't stop other people from doing the traditional family thing.
I mean, if you want to point to a reason for families forming less often look to the real causes in the modern live style.
Gays literally have nothing to do with you on any practical terms. It's symbolic bullshit.
Gays need to get married because of the legal formalities related to family like hospital visiting rights, things related to the will and inheriting things.

There was a time when for every dollar spent on campaigning and every hour of time on air there was a proportional return in votes but I think the tide has turned against the media and they're pretty much at a loss when it comes to predicting/controlling election results. The legacy media lost whatever credibility they had with the Brexit and Trump votes, memes and the internet are only growing stronger as time goes by. I think the Macaroon bubble is going to deflate spectacularly today.

Yes. And fundamentally, it is hard to believe that Macron will steal enough Fillon votes to qualify, while still being hindered by Hamon.

There's only one mainstream right candidate, while the mainstream left has two. As a result, even a weakened Fillon will do 21-22% instead of 27% (before the scandals), while Macron will do 20% instead of 27% (because Hamon eats 7%). Fillon wins.

The problem Hamon for EM is worse than the problem Arnys for FF...!

I think so too. Fillon will manage to get a unified residual right-wing vote (despite his disastrous, in my opinion, campaign performance). And if the fat lady ever gets to the 2nd round she'll be roundly defeated by a republican barrage, which is what the boneheads on /pol/ can't seem to grasp.

Now there may be wishful thinking in that, but Macron did not lead an incredibly powerful campaign that would have allowed him to overcome that fundamental problem.

He was rather bland, with a lot of counter-productive "sequences" (on French culture, etc.).

So his popularity looks like a media bubble that's going to pop tonight... maybe for a mere 0.5% gap.

But the French are disappointing enough to elect him, so who knows.
>>
Hoping for Fillon and Le Pen runoff, but it'll probably be Macron vs Le Pen, where Macron will win easily

Also, why are there people voting for Melenchon, dude is an insane communist. I understand the "hurr durr he will destroy the world so it will be fun to vote for him" mindset, but I doubt that 20% of the population has it.

Mélenchon has very powerful and efficient speeches. He is a phenomenon. Even far-righters admire his talent for that.

Also, he's not explicitly posturing as a commie, removed the red color from his posters, goes under the "Unbowed France" movement rather than his "Left Front", etc. But his program leaves no doubt on his real positioning.

He can make 20%, but that's not a guarantee to qualify for the second round.

Go fuck yourself Leaf. The American Democratic party might be fellating corporatists like everyone else, but socially speaking they're run by the same kind of people who import Somalis and then dox their own constituents when they complain about it. They laugh about white male suicides. They are NOT right wing just because they like getting sodomized by Jeff Bezos.

the word "corporatist" has nothing to do with capitalism or corporations~

The point is the same, just because the Democrats are a lot more centrist on economic issues does not make them centrists given how hard they run left on social issues. They dox people who complain about their immigration policies. They run on platforms that consist of "shutting white people down," and then laugh when some kill themselves. They give political cover for antifa. They are not rightwing or even centrist just because they suck corporate cock like the right.
