Chinese companies extract a lot of natural resources from the DPRK, but a war would probably ruin the country's infrastructure. Trying to pacify the population would also be a serious headache because these guys are fanatically nationalistic and will resist any invader other than (probably) South Korea to the death.

The best outcome is an independent North Korea with a puppet government jointly managed by the Chinese and the U.S with Pyongyang becoming an international hub of gambling, prostitution, and shady finances. Just imagine a casino at the top of this bad boy. The proceeds could be reinvested in infrastructure and social services with the goal of slowly turning the place into a non-meme country.
