I don't have a family tree made up but I was born in Belfast and moved to Canada when I was 9 (spend most summers back home too). Family is protestant (Church of Ireland, attend Anglican Church of Canada) and mostly came to Ireland in the 1600's plantation of Ulster. Surnames in my family: Murdock, Moffatt, Noble, Davidson, Hayes, Ellison, Bell, Aitken and a some Irish Catholic surnames like Dwyer and O'Grady that married in.

Anyone else having trouble tracing their family back to before they immigrated. I even speak the language of the original country my family came from but there is no record that I can find of my great grand parents in there country of origin. What do?

I'm in the same boat. What's even worse is my side is Jewish, and it's possible there are no records to be had because of the synagogues being burned.
I've given up honestly and accepted I won't get any more info.

Look at the bright side atleast you're not a /pol/tard being a self-hating CHI. I swear most of the american /pol/tards are blacks and mexicans.

Well I am black and I enjoy /int/ more.

I added a few hundred more people to the family tree but I can't get the damned software to work for a new family chart to be generated.
>over 4000 people
>all direct ancestors Slovene
>~20 foreigners married to(very) distant relatives
>17 generations
>oldest direct ancestor born ~1750
>oldest distant relative born ~1450

It's similar with my wife's family, but that's one of the nice parts of being Jewish. Their attitude is basically "Fuck our European history. They kept us poor and oppressed, whereas we came here and prospered. We're Jewish Americans; we're not Baltic-Jewish-Americans"
