How do people in your country fool tourists? Picrelated is in the gum, a store right next to red square. Haven't been there for years, but I remember having a really good ice cream there during my childhood so I decided to visit it again recently. What a disappointment.
>>
Also, the seller was black. Really makes you think.
>>
We trick tourists into thinking that we actually want them here.

I think they come to Spain because you have nice weather and beaches, not because you want them there.

Most are food related.
We sell 'Belgian' waffles with all these crazy toppings on them and charge tourists out of their ass. There is no such thing as belgian waffles. We either eat brussels waffles with a light coat of powdered sugar (and maybe whipped cream) or plain Liegeois waffles.

My city is also known for a certain candy sold in stalls. We just buy them in stores for a third of the price.

Same with chocolate.

Just don't buy anything promotod towards tourists. Make it yourself, buy in in the store or go to a specialty store

This is what you should try:
-Fries from a 'frietkot'/'frituur'
-Stoverij ('carbonade flamand' in french) with fries
-Mussels with fries
-Gentse waterzooi
-Gentse neuzen (buy these in a supermarket)
-Brussels waffles with powdered sugar (no other toppings)
-All different kinds of beers
-Jenever
-Plain Liegeois waffles, no toppings (there are sugar granules in them)
-buy some good tablets of chocolate in the supermarket, don't buy them in a tourist stall.

As for cities to visit for tourists:
Ghent > Bruges > Brussels > Dinant > Antwerp

Here in South-East France we got the "dahu"

>French, Italian and Swiss pranksters often describe the dahu as a mountain goat-like animal with legs of different sides having differing lengths to fit the mountain's side.

>The mountaineers working as hunting guides would take advantage of the gullibility of some tourists to lure them into the "dahu hunt" (in French "chasse au dahu"). The animal was touted as a rare and precious bounty, the capture thereof required waiting alone all night on a chilly slope, crouched in an uncomfortable position. In the second half of the 20th century, the supply of naive hunters had dried up, and the dahu hunt enjoyed a second life as a summer camp spoof.

There are still people in 2017 who believe the dahu is real and not a joke

We stay in Brussels and go to a new city every day. Our schedule may change due to weather. We don't have a license so we can't rent a car. But can't we get there by public transport?
>>
>>73705835
Apparently it works on people like me who don't see fancy candy very often and can't really say how much should it cost.
>>
>>73705930
Yeah, sure. We like to whine about it, but the train network is fairly good between all the cities. 1 hour by train max. from brussels (nmbs.be). If you're younger than 26, buy a GoPass10, 10 trainrides anywhere in the country for €50.
the abbeys aren't that accessible by public transport.

The entire centre of Athens is a joke. Restaurants serving mediocre GREEK food with live GREEK music on the background played by some untalented cunts. Also, stores sell lots of useless products, such as t-shirts with Greek flags printed on them, statue and ancient warrior miniatures and overpriced Greek products like ouzo, honey, etc. Sheeple are still falling for it though.
>>
>>73706226

you can get tourist waffles for like 3 euros.

proper wafflekino though, you can only find in a proper restaurant, or at the 2nd floor of Maison Dandoy in downtown Brussels

>>
>>73704773
Amsterdam is the biggest tourist trap outside of Rome. The city is so insanely marketed towards tourists that the entire city center is dedicated to drunk/stoned Brits or camera-clutching chinks. Outside the city center are some genuinely beautiful authentic neighborhoods but you couldn't spend a weekend just walking around there.
If you visit the Netherlands you are better off visiting cities like Utrecht, Den Haag and Rotterdam for a day each. Maybe Den Bosch, Breda, Nijmegen or even Groningen if you're feeling adventurous. But honestly unless you're comfortable with 0 authenticity and inflated prices for a lmoa weed shirt (or if you really want to see the Nachtwacht) just avoid Amsterdam alltogether.

>>73705031
Cones are GOAT
>>
>>73706419
This is my list of good stores/cafes with waffles in Brussels. Hope it's ok.
>>
>>73706600

Neuhaus is just one of the most popular chocolate brands, don't think their waffes would be special.

Proper chocolatekino is to be found on either side of the Sablon (Zavel) Plaza: Pierre Marcolini is Belgian, Patrick Roger is French, but their chocolate is much better (and a bit pricier) than Godiva, Neuhaus etc.

I love the waffles they serve at Les Armes de Bruxelles, a very famous restaurant/brasserie.
>>
>>73706541
I don't know why you all don't like Amsterdam. It's a pretty good city. I've also been to Breda, Rotterdam, Delft, Den Haag and some more, but I wouldn't say they're really better in any sense.
>>
>>73706729

>>
>>73706828

>>
>>73706673
Is it ok to buy waffles in the streets or I am better to avoid it?
>>
>>73706957

It's OK Ivan, I'd just rather buy a cone of French fries, as far as street food is concerned.

A cone of fries with a bunch of sauces on top is essential Belgiumcore.
>>
>>73705650
When you're in Bruges we can have a drink and hang out if you'd like.
>>
>>73706729
>>73706828
Although I am a provincial I just don't like the extreme focus on tourists. It's pretty much the only Dutch city I don't feel at home in. It also doesn't help that a lot of people move there and suddenly lose their accent and only want to talk about how cool Amsterdam is.
But again it has some beautiful neighborhoods where you can find the actual locals who will gladly supply you with top tier bantz directed at Rotterdam.

>>73706999

I've seen cheaper ones in prague tho, like 2/3 euros each, we knew they are a hungarian tradition cause there's always a huge stand of kurtos at our local fair. It's a nice idea, i mean the icecream on the top, i thought about exporting the recipe in italy (with proper icecream ofc)
