You reminded me of a story my friend told me about how his donkey's bollocks got cut in some briars. The vet gave them cream but neither him nor his father wanted to apply it. So a few weeks later the sister brought her bf over and they made him do it when she went out for a bit.

Such is life in the country.

Then there's definitely no connection. People say that Diebuster is the spiritual successor to FLCL based on their artstyles and tone, it's nothing to do with some Gainax expanded universe lore. A bit like how Kill la Kill is the spiritual successor to TTGL.

I was looking up stuff about the French presidential election and I came across this video. One of the most bizarre things I have seen on the BBC in a while.

Also sorry about the lack of archiving, but the video bugs out when archived.

Still has a very good chance of getting through to the second round, but not had hope in hell of winning the second. That said, there was previously almost a certainty to her winning the first round which has faded in recent weeks/months.

The two of them won't make it together, Le Pen is pretty likely to make the second round, and her best chance of winning is Fillon making it in if Melenchol and Macron split their vote enough to put him slightly ahead.
>>73616155
>I've no fucking idea where that surge has come from
I think he's taken a lot of of Hamon's vote as the socialists are seen pretty poorly now, particularly with Macron and Melenchol gaining votes. He seems to have gained some of the Macron vote too as he's dipped a bit, as well as some of the Le Pen vote as he's called for some EU reform referenda and has similar enough economic policies as Le Pen.

My money is on Le Pen and Macron. Fillon is holding steady, but those corruption charges are haunting him everywhere he goes. Melenchol is a wildcard, but I don't think he has quite the support he needs to surpass Le Pen. Hamon doesn't have a hope in my opinion - too wishy washy.

He could surpass Macron either though and possibly take some of his vote too, we could get him and Le Pen in the final round either, or he could take some of Le Pen's vote and get himself and Macron in either. Hamon is dead but he could split the vote even further between himself, Melenchol and Macron to allow Fillon to squeak in ahead of them.
>But isn't he steadfastly anti-EU?
Exactly, and that's why he wants some form of referenda to reform the EU, not leave it entirely, he basically has similar enough policies to SF here. I don't think he wants to leave, but I could be wrong on that, you probably have a better idea. I think I remember you saying before there's no real appetite for leaving the EU in France like in the UK.

>Half a million people received duplicate polling cards in the post, which would allow them to cast two votes at the first round of the election, held on April 23.

>French authorities confirmed they would not be investigating the potential electoral fraud until AFTER the election, when retrospective prosecution may take place.

>This could crush Ms Le Pen’s dreams of surging to power, as most French nationals living outside of their country are not right wing - demonstrated by the fact many feel they depend on the European Union (EU) to guarantee their stay in foreign countries.

>Emmanuel Macron visited London in February and held rousing talks urging London’s 300,000-strong community to vote for him.

>London’s French population equates to France’s sixth largest city, and now many of those 300,000 people will have the chance to vote for Mr Macron twice.

They've been wrong multiple times before, they always seem to rally behind a favourite and give lower odds to everyone else to make more money possibly. Keep in mind their main job is to make money in the best possible way to get some people to bet on bad choices, and not to predict the outcome, while they have people who know their stuff they're also trying to make money, so they could skew things a bit to maximise their profits. Paddy Power still seem to think any of the main four are still in it.
The best to worst winner for president would be Le Pen > Melenchol > Fillon > Macron desu.

>>

I'm not predicting the result, Macron can still win and is the most likely but I was saying that relying on bookies isn't always a good idea. I'd lose money if Le Pen won doing that too based on Paddy Power's odds assuming I bet the same amount on everyone as she's second favourite at 11/4 when in reality she's probably fourth favourite, that's the sort of bet that people will be suckered into betting on and they'll make a lot on when she loses which is a very probable result.
>>
>>73617490
>extra flags
What is this?
>>
>>73617639
It's an application for your browser that add more flags to /int/ for example I might see the flag of Ireland, then the flag of Munster and then the one of Limerick instead of just seeing the flag of the poster's country
>>
>>73617490
It's not too bad as it only shows the extra flags if you have it installed, if you don't everyone who uses it just sees that you're in Ireland and not you're specific region, because you have to let it see your IP to assign you the extra flags. I don't use it though, and I've never seen anyone go RARE if someone has a flag from somewhere like Leitrim.

You can get La Pen 3/1 from a lot of places, she's consistently 2nd favourite but a long way behind Macron. Bookies shape their odds to reflect where money is placed and to manage risk, it's not about trying to trick people into making bad bets since in a sense every set of odds represents a bad bet unless you're significantly more knowledgeable on the proposition than most.

Yeah I can see that now, I should've used there first. I'm not confident enough that one of those three will win ahead of of, but one of them could still win it.
>it's not about trying to trick people into making bad bets since in a sense every set of odds represents a bad bet unless you're significantly more knowledgeable on the proposition than most.
Yes it really isn't, but I don't think Le Pen is second most likely as anyone who gets into the second round will beat her unless Fillon gets in and then she has an outside chance, they do try to sucker in people who aren't that knowledgeable on the subject though by having all the bets being potentially bad, in the case of this bet some people who don't know very much about the election think Le Pen will win because she's leading polls in the first round when they're largely irrelevant to the final result as she'll probably lose in the second round.

Nobody is with North Korea on this, even if they do fire off a few nukes I think the US, China and Russia would call a truce and team up to remove them is probably the worst that will happen, nobody wants to start a World War over fucking North Korea, their "allies" at the moment are distant from them, and long term they probably want them to just keep running the country into the ground to finally deal with the problem. We will get dragged in if something else triggers a war though.

That's being overblown. China regularly rotates troops on the North Korean border. I believe the last deployment there was in January (could be wrong on that though). In fact their usual purpose is turning back illegal emigrants from NK.

Of course the timing of this particular deployment is of noteworthy significance.

I highly question the legitimacy of a pro-EU nationalist. If your country is ruled from Brussels, you don't have much of a country. Not to mind the fact that the country you do have is swinging progressive year on year.

Basically, what's worth fighting for in an Ireland that continually globalizes itself, what are you trying to protect. Moreover, what's the favour of Europe worth if it comes at the expense of your sovereignty.

I think most people would only fight for the EU in a defensive war, because for smaller countries the EU alliance is the only hope they have of repelling a more powerful enemy. If a hostile power wants to invade Ireland, our "neutrality" wouldn't count for shit because we are incapable of defending it.

I want Ireland to fight for the EU in an aggressive war because I'm aroused by imperialism. I'm glad we finally get to be an actual empire and not just the island next to one.

Outside of specialty stores, Caburys doesn't exist here. Nestlé does exist, but they don't seem to do mass produced Easter Eggs like they do back home - at least not in the supermarkets I've visited lately.

>Do the French even celebrate Easter?
Yes, but it doesn't appear to be quite as commercialised as it is in Ireland or the UK.

I don't think there's any outside influence in this case. Unless the French are hiding their mass market Easter eggs somewhere only French people know, you either pay through the nose for Easter chocolate or you go without.

Cheap chocolate is full of added sugars and you don't get the "real" chocolate taste (I'm talking about 90 cents chocolate)

There is an element of truth to what he says. Less than half of my friends are actually employed despite most of them being college graduates. Some of them started another 4 year undergraduate after completing the previous one, a few more are in their 2nd or 3rd "gap year" in a row, another is trying to develop a game to release on steam and another trying to get a breakthrough with his band.
A lot of people who couldn't get work during the recession just accepted unemployment as a way of life and now have very little desire to jump into the 9-5 grind.

No. You shouldn't look like a knacker wandering around a college campus.

Jobs are gone to shit. I know a girl who just finished her master's and can't get one. She took some minimum wage shit the other day because no place of worth was accepting her. She needs the money too since the dole crowd are being cunts.

Tracksuit bottoms are comfy. I prefer them to jeans.

I prefer the knacker looking types around college to the numale wankers drinking coffee and ranting about women's rights.

Words of wisdom, plus spides and knackers are pretty dead on people and are more pleasant to talk to. Plus they hate pakis and shit

Neither of those represent the majority of lads you'll see on a college campus (at least when I was there). Most of them dress in jeans or some other type of respectable type of trousers. Although the rise in skinny jeans on men has been unfortunate.

>>73631281
Maybe not necessarily suits and ties, but I definitely wouldn't allow Mick Wallace through the gates of Leinster House.
>>
>>73631130
Are you seriously saying a guy dressed like this looks like a "knacker" to you. A quarter of any campus must be knackers to you if it does.

The shirt is fine, but those trousers wouldn't be what I personally would consider suitable college attire. But that's just me judging people - they can wear whatever they want.
>>
>>73631503
Mate it's not school and hardly a place where you get dressed up to impress people. Trackies are just comfy that's all and dressing "well" is for closeted homos

Well this is how it is now. I hang two colleges and those are the types you see, very little middle ground.
>>
>>73631305
Yeah they're fairly sound once you know them.

>>73631503
>suitable college attire
I've seen women wearing jammies in lectures before, college is just people experimenting with the freedom that was restricted to them until now.

There's a happy middleground between dressing like a knacker and dressing like a nu-male.

>I hang two colleges and those are the types you see, very little middle ground.
Christ, sounds dire.

So all personal responsibility and sense of decency goes out the window?

And what exactly is wrong with that so long as you aren't? Very weird mentality you've got there if you're insecure about being seen as a knacker
>>
>>73631503
Nobody expects more than casual wear in college. The idea of dressing up to attend a lecture is insane.

I have no time for knackers and don't understand why anybody would want to be mistaken for one. Having a college campus being swarmed by people dress liked them reflects poorly on the institution.

>>73631798
As I said, there is a happy middleground between dressing like a knacker and "dressing up".

>>
>>73631919
Knackers are sound and loyal people. It's wise having a knacker mate they always have your back. Not a fan of demonising people who had a shit hand at life, poor, mentally ill and such. They need help not shunning
>>
>>73631919
The guy here >>73631404 is the middle ground between making no effort i.e. pyjamas and wearing casual clothing that is suitable for outdoor wear.
If you'd wear it going to a supermarket to pick up milk without people looking at you funny I think it's fine to wear to class.

"Knacker" doesn't mean "poor person" or "mentally ill", you know that right? Somebody who is labeled a knacker tends to be of ill-repute, often with a reputation that is well-earned.

>If you'd wear it going to a supermarket to pick up milk without people looking at you funny I think it's fine to wear to class.
Personally I'd switch to a pair of decent jeans for class. But hey, that's just me and my hang-ups.

Due to mental illness and drug addiction, simply a product of their environment.

Wearing a pair of trackie pants does not make you a knacker

You're probably the type of stuck up little wank stain that would wear slacks everyday to try and impress people

I wore jeans to college every day (not skinny ones). I didn't own a pair of slacks until I got my first job post-graduation.
