To be fair though, I see how it might be considered as the "best time of your life" by some because the conditions can lend themselves to that. Minimal responsibility with maximum freedom CAN be a recipe for good times.

I had a good time at secondary school. It wasn't perfect, but it was the last time I remember being genuinely content with my life had an optimistic outlook on things.
Tell me about computer courses. What kind of uni course should I get into if I'm interested in cracking and also game modding and stuff? Would I have to do one course in network security and then one in software development? Would software development cover both? Would CS cover both? Would I be able to figure out one easily enough with knowledge of the other?

Either make friends and live with them or pick your location more carefully. My University had 5 campus villages with a different reputation for each. One was first year and party focused, another sports focused, another for students who wanted peace and quiet etc. You weren't going to wind up in a party house or apartment unless you really wanted to be. Similar with off campus areas. You could maybe make the mistake of not knowing in your first year but not after that.

That sounds like the sort of thing you'd do better on your own in your free time, although a course would help you to an extent. I think most CS courses cover the two of those topics, not sure about a software development course. I've heard the DCU CS course is the best in Dublin, I don't know much else about the field.

I have no idea how anyone could think employed life is better than college unless you're a business owner or working some sort of dream job. Working for an employer under strict conditions is not fulfilling in the slightest.
College is a place where you learn a discipline you're interested in, have massive freedom in terms of time constraints, low responsibility to everything else and you're surrounded in a very positive environment by young, intelligent people who are also eager to learn and have fun.
School is shit in this country, I think we all agreed that a few days ago.

I had friends and lived with them for two years, lived on campus for three years at three different villages, and off campus for one year.
Didn't matter whether it was strangers or friends, or what accommodation I was living in, place was always messy. Only people who didn't really make a mess were the foreign exchange students. Location or people also didn't matter when it came to noise.

Jesus, what sort of fantasy world university did you go to? For me and everybody else I met, the actual academic element of college was about doing the least amount of work possible in return for the best possible grade.
>School is shit in this country, I think we all agreed that a few days ago.

>>73587590
Computer Science is a very general course that would usually branch into electives later on. You'd usually learn the basics of programming, computer architecture (which involves some discrete mathematics), networks, databases that kind of thing. If you want to do something specific after that you could do things like cyber security and such as a masters after graduating. It's probably your entry point.
>>73588017
>Working for an employer under strict conditions is not fulfilling in the slightest.
You could also be self employed or do freelancing. Not every employer is going to be strict either, and you might even be able to find strict conditions you enjoy.
>you're surrounded in a very positive environment by young, intelligent people who are also eager to learn and have fun.
That's pretty subjective, that will vary for some people. You seem to have a very idealised view of college and the worst possible view and outcomes for employment bar for a very small amount of fields.

You have to pay about 3000 euro as a "registration fee", and the tuition is payed by the government which is about another 4000. If you don't qualify for a grant that's not a small sum for something that is effectively a tutiton fee.
>>73588106
>I had friends and lived with them for two years, lived on campus for three years at three different villages, and off campus for one year.
>Didn't matter whether it was strangers or friends, or what accommodation I was living in, place was always messy. Only people who didn't really make a mess were the foreign exchange students. Location or people also didn't matter when it came to noise.
I think you were unlucky. I had a house like that in first year with people playing drunk table tennis at 4am in the morning but I went for more mature areas after that which was mostly filled with women and foreign students and found it much quieter. Living on campus was helpful as well since we had security driving around on noise patrol after midnight.
>>73588331
>You seem to have a very idealised view of college and the worst possible view and outcomes for employment bar for a very small amount of fields.

With 18 years to save it shouldn't be breaking the bank for most parents to be able to afford a few thousand. In the US it's around 10k per year.

>Have you played the previous games?
I've played 3 and 4
>If so how does it compare?
Dungeons are more fleshed out, they're much better. They used to feel like dungeon crawlers but from what I've seen of the first palace it's more like an old Zelda game in terms of map progression and puzzles.
Battle flow is a lot faster, there's a lot more stylisation in menus and across the battle system.
Music is comparably good.
The plot tone is a lot grittier than 4. Main characters appear to be equally well fleshed out but I think they've done a much better job of characterisation of lesser characters in 5 than in previous games. Even the shopkeepers and teachers seem to have a story behind them here, a lot of them were just generic NPCs before.
So far I think P5 is a natural progression and a little better in every way than 4, so I hope it keeps going this strong. 3 and 4 developed very well and had big twists late on that brought a lot of impact so I'm hoping for the same.

There's serious cognitive dissonance on 4chan in general when it comes to religion. It's a website full of cynical, fact oriented people who are almost entirely atheist in belief but their desire to identify as ideologically conservative with traditional values flies in the face of rejecting organised religion. It manifests in this strange support of religion without ever wanting to practice it or believe in any of the principles.

State of this country
>>73595724
I want everyone else in the world to operate on strict moral principles, while I stay home and wank to increasingly degenerate pornography. I believe this stems from my disgust at society for seemingly falling deeper into the depths of despair, this doesn't factor me in though as I believe that I do form part of society as such it's fine for me to do it. I've never felt connected to any community, I know more people in the town I went to secondary school in than the village I spent my entire life in so that explains my feelings of disassociation.
I'm sorry if that didn't make too much sense I'm feeling a bit lightheaded.

>>73598346
It's not as good as FLCL and, not gonna spoil it for you, but the way it ties into Gunbuster feels so forced that it makes you wonder why it was put in there at all.
>>73598435
I think it was spoiled for me already. Was it that they're on Earth when the "GO AWAY" lights shine for Noriko and Kazumi?
Haven't watched an anime in over a year. Waiting on the new Battleship Yamato.
>>73598346
I liked it anyway - more than Gunbuster. Gunbuster is by no means bad, but visually I don't think it has aged well. The technical aspect of the animation holds up, but I really don't like that 80's art style. Also the pacing is a bit odd considering how short the series is.
And then there's the fact that Diebuster has a god-tier OP.
>>73598435
>but the way it ties into Gunbuster feels so forced that it makes you wonder why it was put in there at all.
I never understand this claim. I see the tie-in as a nice bonus. Diebuster's plot didn't exactly need it, but I don't think it suffered from adding it.

Character faces do look off in Gunbuster now that you mention it. Not fond of the weird lines on Noriko's face that look like blush marks but black.
Still, Gunbuster animation is greater than 99% of anime by virtue of Noriko's pubes.

As I said, the animation in Gunbuster is fabulous. I just find some of the art/aesthetics (mainly the character designs) to be quite offputting.

No Battlecruiser has been built since before WW2. HMS Hood was the last to be constructed, and HMS Renown was the last to be scrapped. The Kirov class are the closest thing to a Battlecruiser still in service today, but they don't fit the role battlecruisers were originally intended to fill.
