Knowing Chinese kills me when I learn kanji, because I don't pronounce the word in its kanji form, but its chinese pronunciation. Really fucks with me. Also, sometime Japanese sounds like dialect to me, since I'm 1/2 Hokkien and 1/2 Canto.

Mostly just normal pinyin. Like I'll read 結局 as jieju, instead of the kanji pronunciation. Singaporeans are too linguistically mixed up to be strong in any particular dialect.

I can speak and understand Singaporean dialects, but talking to a native Canto speaker is a whole different story. 新加坡人讲的华语也不是真正的普通话,很可惜。想跟中国人沟通学习华语。

It happens a lot to me as well. It's probably because East Asian languages all have similar roots, so we mix up the ones we don't know with the one we are most familiar with.

Search on Ankiweb, there are lot of them
I personaly use Heisig's for traditonal chars (although I hate his books, they are the only one that will learn you 1500 chars in less than 3 months)
Also, "Pinyin Listening and Recall" (or sth like that) to improve my pronunciation, "Hello China" (though I wouldn't recommend it, cause it uses simplified chars and is pretty poor), "sth sth Taiwan vocabulary" (one of the best, both traditional and simplified), "Chinese Beginner Sentences" (also one of the best, both traditional and simplified), and deck with radicals

If you wanna learn simplified ones, I recommend you "RLC Zhang Peng Peng", "Most Common 3000 Hanzi", and decks for Heisig's books

For me traditional ones are easier to learn, cause I learn by ethymology, and together with using Anki, it's the most efficient way
Also, simplified characters are ugly, often irrational, and mandarin-oriented
I don't criticize simplification of characters, but the one that PRC did is just fucked up in all ways it can be
And simplification is needed only in handwriting, when using computer/reading printed characters it doesn't make any diffrence
