Does anyone in France not older than Stan Lee still hears to chanson and other francophone musics from the 40s to the 60s? For me this is the golden era of the French music, and almost every music I like the most in this language comes from geniuses such as Édith Piaf, Mireille Mathieu, Charles Aznavour, Yves Montand, etc, etc. I'm just curious whether the pieces of art brought us by those guys are being forgotten or not by the French themselves.

I know a lot of song from Edith Piaf and Charles Aznavour, butnot from Mireille Mathieu and Yves Montand.
By the way,in my opinion, the best french singer is Jean Ferrat.
I listen to Perturbator and other memewave frogs.

>Jean Ferrat
He was too reclusive and somewhat weird for my taste. I don't really know any music from his other than Nuit et Brouillard (great one), though.

Try this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkI5wGVjfX8
We have a popular radio channel for old songs but it's more about 80's such as balavoine, goldmann... No one is unironically interested about Piaf

Everything french music now is sandnigger's rap.
Sad.

La Mer is very, very know worldwide. But I've never heard of Georges Brassens, given the quality of this music, I feel ashamed. Thanks for the vid

I like France Gall. Does she belong to next generation?
I hear old chants of l'Action Française.
