>There are those who despise the thought of rubber on carpet, who lie awake panicking because wearing outdoors shoes indoors upsets the natural order of things. Then there are normal people like me, who don’t really care because they understand the purpose of doormats.
I thought it was just a meme before, but is wearing shoes inside your house actually normal for British and Americans?
Disgusting

My best friend is vietnamese, and when I first started coming over i thought taking shoes off before one came in was ridiculous. Now I can't stand tracking shit into the house no matter what. Doormats are cool, but there's always something sticking around, especially with carpet.
inb4 >carpet
Fucking disgusting and uncomfortable
hate wearing shoes indoors. I feel pangs of autism when my friends wear their shoes on their bed
can someone explain why americans use carpet instead of vinyl or wood?

Cheaper than wood.

Basically all of construction is based around a 85 iq illiterate mestizo workforce nowadays

My house has wood and carpet. Carpet is a lot more comfortable to walk around in bare or stocking feet. Why would you want your get mashed against a cold hard floor when you could have a comfy warm carpet?

What about Linoleum or Vinyl? Its not cold or tough to walk on. I can't imagine how filthy those thick carpets get especially if you're walking on them with shoes.

> my friends wear their shoes on their bed

I started doing it to see if it made any difference.
My floors stay clean for waaaay longer than they used to.
>Invited an American friend to my house
>he comes in without taking his shoes off
>All that dirt on my beautiful floor
>Kicked his ass immediately
Fucking savages never letting an American in my house ever again

I live in an older house from the 1870s that was renovated. Newer housing uses linoleum if the people are poor/cheap or harder fake wood flooring
