Pretty dank looking desu, would use
It looks nothing like Russian though... There's even a couple extra letters, and a few letters are rarely used except in loanwords from Russian and Tibetan.
Am I the only one who finds it sad that native scripts are replaced?

They did start teaching it again in school, but most people in Mongolia don't know it that well.
Traditional Mongolian script isn't used to write contemporary Mongolian, but a more classical form. It's also written vertically, and there is only a cursive form, so you can't have individual letters like Latin or Cyrillic. Added to that the fact that it's only used by a few million people maximum means that it has never really been supported well on computers, because of lack of interest in developing it.
One final slight problem, is that the script everyone prefers to use doesn't mark the masculine/feminine vowels. While this wasn't as important in the traditional language, it has become more important to distinguish as the language developed into it's current form.
There's a simple solution to that problem though, which is to use the Clear Script, which as the name implies, clarifies the difference with some added diacritics.
