Much love for the Urutu. It's old but it's a fighter.
>>73309784
Huh. Your dudes have similar helmets to ours. Similar camo too.
Post gurkhas in your country desu.I want to see them.
The pic is staged I believe
>>73310185
Mostly as private security guards. No disrespect to you but originally only ex-Ghurkas who served in the military can be hired as guards in Malaysia but now they just take anyone as long as they're Nepalese.
>>73310178
It's the same model.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personnel_Armor_System_for_Ground_Troops
Camo is very different tho.
>>73310436
Yeah it's pretty common desu
Malaysian Army bombarding Filipino Sulu invader positions during the Lahad Datu standoff. Later F/A-18s and Hawk-200s also bombed them, killing most of the intruders.
Reading the list of Russian casualties on winter war.
>>73310453
We changed to puke inducing digicam. Why? Because even the military is not immune to fashion trends.
Buy pls.
>>73310749
Digital just doesn't work in jungle or forests.
Heavy weapons crew during the Lahad Datu stand off.
Find me.
>>73310821
See this. This is our Bomba (fire service) uniform. It's fucking ORANGE camo. Nevermind why the Bomba needs camo in the first place.
Still can't find me :D
>>73311102
That could be useful camo in buddhist temple.
>>73311102
We have orange and beije, all leather.
>>73311184
Firemen are supposed to br highly visible for safety reasons. Not blend in with the fire. Some high up Fire service brass probably got penis envy of the military and decided they should wear camo to. But in orange.
>>73311236
What military branch is this? Seems like Star Wars Rebel uniform.
>>73311379
Army, Semi-Arid combat units, same as jungle warfare units, but on "desert".
>>73311292
Oh, hahaha! What the hell, firemen don't need camo! :D Those fire service bosses should be fired. This is how our firemen look.
>>73311519
Wow. Cool as. What's the deal with the fisherman hat though?
>>73311519
Army clothing made of orange leather :D Maybe this is more suitable for gay club not for military :D

No shit. On the other hand, here is the uniform of our RELA Corps (Homeguard Militia). It's fucking bright yellow and banana green. Whyyyyyy?
>>73311654
This has a sci-fi vibe to it.
>>73311738
Haha! You should ditch fashion designers from these jobs! :D
>>73311690
Poor guys, leather is hot as hell and in Brazil, KILL ME! :D
>>73311919
Not really.
In the jungle is as hot but 100% humidity.
Here's one of them wearing normal uniform.
>>73311801
Maybe.
>>73311654
Our paramilitary police General Operations Force wear cloth hats too. The GOF is police but eqiupped like Army light infantry. Was originally raised to fight commie insurgents in the 60's.
>>73311978
I'm not sure what to wear in jungle but sure not leather. :D
>>73312015
>have commie insurgents
>have army
>raise completely separate pseudoarmy to fight commies
Why?
>>73312015
Same unit, but more "normal".
>>73312148
Apparently, ours is 65% cotton / 35% polyester ripstop fabrics.
>>73312148
They don't.
Just saying that Jungle feels hotter than Semi-Arid.
>>73312226
Because Army has to follow Geneva conventions. Police can just treat CTs (commie terrorists) like criminals. Plus it was an insurgency (some say civil war) so technically the Army is only "assisting" the Police.
>>73312266
You shouldn't wear any cotton in jungle either. It get wet and never dries. Wear polyester or merino wool.
Malaysian Army teaching US soldiers how to forage for food in the jungle. We train regularly with the US Army and Marines. Our Air Force too since we have Su-30s and Mig-29s that the US wants to train against.
Who would win?
>>73312641
Our jungles are always wet anyway. Humidity is 100% and it rains everyday hence, rainforest. The trees actually make clouds due to transpirating so much water. You just learn to put up with it.
>>73312641
Almost everyone uses ripstop.
We do here.
>>73312772
I think same materials are suitable in your environment as in ours. Polyester and merinowool. They both dry up quickly and work in hot and cold environments. Cotton is should be avoided always, it gets wet and never dries.
US Marines training with Malaysian Rangers. Note the yellow soil. It's slipery as fuck and sticks to everything.
>>73312953
Yeah, I agree. We stick to cotton maybe out of tradition from the Brits and also probably cheaper.
>>73311575
Of course they wear those bright suits for jumping into a fire. Those camo suits are for when doing volunteer work since they complain about the usual shirts and pants being too weak for heavy duty.
And also for when they catch some snakes/cats/crocodiles/elephants/tigers.
>>73312226
So that a conflict is not regarded as a 'war' for economic reasons. For example this incident
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_Lahad_Datu_standoff
>200 armed pirates comes and claims a state since supposedly the Anglos cheated their ancestors centuries ago
>Gets bombed by artillery and jets before mopped by armour.
>Nothing to see here folks, just a police action supported by the military. No loss of insurance due to war and the military is just there to provide the police fire support.
Something leftover from the bongs since the anti communist war was called "Malayan Emergency" to protect British plantations from losing money.

This is our old warhorse the Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King. We got it in 1968 and still flying them today. Even upgraded them (again) very recently. I don't know why. Must be expensive finding parts now.
>>73313717
Thanks. Always nice to help. :)

MiG-29 has been retired since 2015, last time I saw them flying was one escorting several F-22 in 2014.
Even then one had engine problem and a Flanker had to go instead.
>MiG is the only one pumping out smoke
>>73313908
We bought so many they can still be cannibalised for parts and there is still life left in the airframe. The main reason for their crashes is the ancient cockpit which burdens pilot, their heavy workload such as flying supplies in Borneo and the lack of electronics to compensate for stuff like monsoon season.
At LIMA 2017 Airod already shown their digital cockpit upgrade for them and will be flying up till 2030.
The heavy work is now handled by EC725 which will replace them over time while the ones still flying handed to the army for transportation.
>>73314116
We should connect with Malaysian army how to fight in jungle, even it is unlikely :)
>>73313908
We use the 725 (or H225M now) on all three forces.
>>73314274
Kek. Funny thing about the jungle is that I curse it everyday I have to slog through them but back home in the city, I get dreams of walking in it. There is a sound and smell unique to the jungle. Like the hush before a violent storm.
>>73314721
Sure! That is an environment very different from ours, we don't know of.

There is the Commonwealth Jungle warfare school in Brunei where all the knowledge are gathered.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Army_Jungle_Warfare_Training_School
Still in terms of going jungle gorilla the police unit Senoi Praaq is probably the best. Its an aborigine only unit and probably the best jungle trackers around and called upon whenever someone goes missing in the jungle.
They have a bit of crazy reputation though like I'm gonna kill commies with blowpipe kind of crazy. One of their retired ones lives alone in the nearby jungle and keeps tons of snakes around.
Foreign companies also use our grounds for tropical climate tests often, France's Caesar artillery was tested here and last I heard Saab engineers were around doing something.
