president is head of the government and state
prime mister is head of the government
i think
Presidents are leaders, prime ministers are just the first among other ministers.
The idea comes from Augustus Ceasar who was the "first citizen", or prima as I think it's called in latin. Also where the term "prince" comes from.

Depends on the government type.
We have a president and a prime minister here, and they both hold significant power with different responsabilities.

Yes, this is correct
The PM isn't a figurehead of the state. You have a President or Monarch to play that role.

We have both Prime Minister and President.
President is the guy signs on bills passed in parliament, controls the Armed Forces and imposes President's rule on unstable states (basically means army arresting or shooting people creating nuisance in the state while the state government and police is dissolved until its stable again)
Prime Minister - Runs the government, is the head of government and all the ministers of the Cabinet. Controls nukes.

What if a country would have a Prime President?
What then?
In the Netherlands..
The Prime Minister has no special powers. He's equal to all other ministers and the spokesman for them.
While the King is the head of state and has plenty of special powers, which he barely uses.

The ministers decide how to run the government by majority vote among each other.
And in public they arent allowed to disagree with each other.
If a minister disagrees with the internal majority vote then he has to resign.
