Disappointment mostly. I spent two months there and it wasn't at all like I expected. Not saying that it was bad, but a lot of expectations died during my trip. For example a lot of police stations in Japan still use Windows XP and 25 year old fax machines, and outside of the Tokyo area they're not even just ignorant, but hugely xenophobic. I got reported to the cops by a waitress once because some shit was missing in the restaurant and I was the one that stood out because I looked funny.

Also I'm not a delusional weeb or something, I don't like anime shit. I went there because of their culture and their reputation as a technology hub.
