Over rated. First bites are good but the taste gets old very fast.
Don't know why everyone bounces in poutines duck. I think people are amused with the name.

I didnt like the taste at first, my second time was with soy sauce instead of gravy and was better. It's 6/10 snack overall.

I wish we had actual good poutine down here.

Had some tasty American versions, but I don't think their cheese curds are right or sometime use shredded cheese. Most of the time they aren't tangy at all.

We do have some pretty bomb bbq and meat gravies down here though.

I've tried upon several occasions to emulate that dish, despite not having the curds or gravy specified. So far I've gotten pretty close by making my own roux with real butter, and using a smear-ripened cheese with tons of flavor.

It's 8/10 comfort food, for sure, but the homemade roux takes some time to get just right, so it's not so easy to prepare.
I shall try to experiment with using ready-from-bag sauce next semester, but it would help to actually know how the genuine article tastes.
